These cameras don't mean nothing. And the mayor is winning no points by discouraging people from bringing their legal firearms.

I saw nothing in this story that said that legal fire arms are not allowed -

"For safety reasons the following are not permitted in the event area, which goes south from the Ohio River to Main Street between Clay Street and 10th Street and includes the Thunder Chow Wagon and North Great Lawn viewing area:

No Tents or canopies of any kind
No Stakes
No Tape, rope or pennant lines allowed
No glass bottles are allowed at the event site.
Picnic blankets (and tarps limited to 10′ x 10′) and lawn chairs are permitted.
Plastic bottles and food are permitted. There is also plenty of food and soft drink stands to take care of any needs you may have. Beer is available at the Chow Wagon at Waterfront Park, North Great Lawn, the West Belvedere Beer Garden and River Road Beer Garden.
No alcoholic beverages are allowed.
No bikes, skateboards or skates are allowed in the event venue. You will be asked to walk them in for pedestrian safety.
Please leave any pets at home.
Due to increased security all persons and parcels are subject to search."

How many have their CCDW ready for Thunder Over Louisville? Everyone needs to get theirs and come armed and ready to defend themselves this year so we can stop these animal thugs from ruining our streets once and for all. Remember - it's real hard to tell the difference between gun shots and fireworks! Let's take back OUR city by renaming this years event "Thugs 6' Under Louisville" !

Try again...
Yes, he is discouraging it, but nothing says they are not allowed. As a matter of fact, he clearly states in the article, "I don't think it's a good idea," said Fischer. "Obviously they have a right to do that, but things can escalate when that takes place."

So carry on CCDW holders, carry on.

A letter that was meant for LMPD went viral and is online. Supposedly 2 gangs are supposed to meet and go at it.

The mouthpieces assure us that the twelve hundred cops, cameras, and crowds will discourage thuggery and mayhem. But what about in the parking garages afterwards? During the four block walk to your car, in the dark, with your family, after the events? Who will have your ass then? The mayor? The council? The dollar snatchers? Let the punks have the shit? Nothing downtown is worth my safety or the inconvenience of me having to go postal on some thugfucks. The kissasses, vote grabbers, and the activists would want my head, but they're virtually terrified to even discourage much less actually prosecute the evildoers. Why participate in that?

A wonderful opportunity for the citizens of this city to eliminate a great deal of the black vermin that infest a small portion of our city legally.

I will be attending and I will be armed. Sorry Mayor Fisher but I will have no problem putting down a thug or a group of thugs. It is clean up time for Louisville.

I can understand the anger and the frustration being expressed. I can also understand the desire to address the problems. However, it is the leadership that falls short in this city. An administration that prefers to humor criminals as opposed to hammer them. If you lose one potential voter due to mob violence, well, that's better than losing of dozens of guaranteed voters by prosecuting or ostracizing them. This is about votes and dollars. Why the push to restore felon voting rights? Why the steadfast fight against voter ID requirements? The mindset is that it is better to lose one dozen conservative voters than to risk losing one thousand liberal ones. There is the problem. Sure, we can go to the festivities armed to the teeth and defend ourselves earnestly, but the hammer will be brought down. Thug violence is played down while self defense is criminalized and discouraged. To maintain control of their positions and their paychecks the vote grabbers have to play by these rules. While I can agree that it is far better to be a dead patriot than a breathing vote whore, we must choose our battles wisely. Strategic tactics win battles and the ring masters are the puppeteers. To hell with gunning down kids. Demand that the power holders make this situation right. It IS their responsibility. If they cannot or will not do so, then the burden falls upon the constituency. Or we can just do what has been done for decades. Throw money at them, take good things away from others to give to them to waste and destroy, and most importantly, beg them to behave. Just my view.
