About six in ten Americans (58%) say “global warming is affecting weather in the United States.”[Yale poll]

But a majority of Republicans oppose action on climate change, or discount the science behind climate change as we know.

alan, I hate to say it to your face but you are most uninformed.

Are you willing to dig a little for knowledge? I hope you don't stay as empty-headed as you certainly exhibit here.

Regrets.

Contrary to a popular misconception, the rate of warming
has not declined. Global temperature is rising as fast in the
past decade as in the prior 2 decades, despite year-to-year
fluctuations associated with the El Niño‐La Niña cycle of
tropical ocean temperature.[Hansen et al]

More to the point, the science says that the AGW is causing signficant climate change. The polls just show how fast this awareness is creeping into the public knowledge base as one disaster after another shows 'extreme events' are increasing in frequency.

As 90% of the thermal energy goes into the oceans (which have to warm before air due to their thermal mass).
