LOL....Is that your evidence? PEER REVIEW: The act of banding together a group of like-minded academics with a funding conflict of interest, for the purpose of squeezing out any research voices that threaten the multi-million dollar government grant gravy train.

The Dopey Liberal Democrat's "Climate Change" Dictionary:

► CLIMATE CHANGE: What has been happening for billions of years, but should now be flogged to produce panic for profit. "Climate Change" is the new "Global Warming".... the name may have changed, but the hoax is still the same.

► PEER REVIEW: The act of banding together a group of like-minded academics with a funding conflict of interest, for the purpose of squeezing out any research voices that threaten the multi-million dollar government grant gravy train.

► SETTLED SCIENCE: Betrayal of the scientific method for politics, money or both.

► DENIER: Anyone who suspects the truth.

► NOBEL PEACE PRIZE: Leftist Nutcase Prize, unrelated to “Peace” in any meaningful way.

► DATA, EVIDENCE: Unnecessary details. If anyone asks for this, see “DENIER,” above.

► CLIMATE SCIENTIST: A person skilled in spouting obscure, scientific-sounding jargon that has the effect of deflecting requests for “DATA” by “DENIERS.” Also skilled at affecting an aura of “Smartest Person in the Room” to buffalo gullible legislators and journalists.

► JUNK SCIENCE: The use of invalid scientific evidence resulting in findings of causation which simply cannot be justified or understood from the standpoint of the current state of credible scientific or medical knowledge.

Using the same sort of logic associated with Global Warming an argument can be made that humans have altered the climate before.

Examples: The deforestation of Europe in prehistoric times and the deforestation of North America. Reasoning: The savannah lands of Brazil were much wetter in the past. Humans cut the forests of North America for agriculture, cities, etc. In the 1870s the climate of Brazil changed. It became drier and is still drier than it was before the trees in North America were cut down. Same reasoning that says an aborigine pissing in the ocean in Patagonia can cause a tsunami in Japan five years later.

Then there is the argument that humans (and their domesticated sheep) turned the Middle East and Sahara into deserts.

You can "prove" anything if you carry the cause-effect relationship out enough steps and to absurdum infinitum.

Fools believe that science is just an argument.

Science tells you otherwise.

A co-founder of Greenpeace told a Senate panel on Tuesday that there is no scientific evidence to back claims that humans are the “dominant cause” of climate change.

Patrick Moore, a Canadian ecologist who was a member of Greenpeace from 1971-86, told members of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee environmental groups like Greenpeace use faulty computer models and scare tactics in further promoting a political agenda

“There is no scientific proof that human emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) are the dominant cause of the minor warming of the Earth’s atmosphere over the past 100 years,” Mr. Moore said.“Today, we live in an unusually cold period in the history of life on earth and there is no reason to believe that a warmer climate would be anything but beneficial for humans and the majority of other species.

“It is important to recognize, in the face of dire predictions about a [two degrees Celsius] rise in global average temperature, that humans are a tropical species,” he continued.“We evolved at the equator in a climate where freezing weather did not exist. The only reasons we can survive these cold climates are fire, clothing, and housing.

“The fact that we had both higher temperatures and an ice age at a time when CO2 emissions were 10 times higher than they are today fundamentally contradicts the certainty that human-caused CO2 emissions are the main cause of global warming,” he said.

Mr. Moore left Greenpeace in 1986, accusing the organization of political activism.

Democrats have again been trying to scare the American people with threats of impending doom if fossil fuel use is not stopped. Much of this recent resurgence is probably an attempt to divert public attention from the ongoing catastrophic failures of ObamaCare.

huh

The bottom line is that every region of the country must both do its part to reduce carbon emissions and plan to adapt to the effects it is unlikely to avoid.

The best way to cut greenhouse gases would be through a national policy that puts a price on carbon dioxide emissions. Experts are all but unanimous on this point, but Congress has yet to respond.

Local governments can enforce stronger building codes and various other measures, particularly in the absence of robust federal action.

All levels of government, meanwhile, must plan for coming changes.

Last week the journal Science published an analysis on the cost-effectiveness of various ideas to harden New York City against flooding.

A group of experts found that retrofitting existing buildings to better withstand floods and storms would help in all sorts of future conditions.

In middle-of-the-road warming scenarios, they also figured, it would make economic sense to enhance waterside flood barriers around major infrastructure.

This is the sort of analysis that communities large and small should be conducting now.

The bottom line is that damned liberal environmentalists like you want to destroy America's economy and impose horrendous financial hardship on poor people who must pay electric bills while China and India forge full speed ahead with coal fired power plants.
