"We Africans never seek to impose our view on others. If only they could let us alone," he said, talking of Western pressure not to sign the bill. "We have been disappointed for a long time by the conduct of the West. There is now an attempt at social imperialism."

Without naming them, Museveni accused "arrogant and careless Western groups" of trying to recruit Ugandan children into homosexuality, prompting local pressure for the law.

The whole of Africa will follow these brave act by Ugandans against the western bullies of the gay movement. These bullies have no respect for other cultures. We are not going to accept any cultural imperialism of these criminals who are now using sex instead of gun boat diplomacy. Nigeria passed the law recently and hopefully the rest of Africans will follow soon. Besides it is only few countries of North Europe and North America who are blackmailing the rest of the world to have same sex with each other. They preach tolerance and yet they are the most intolerant to those who don't think like them.

There's something very fishy about this sudden delirium of " righteousness " from a country where corruption has always been rampant .. It all looks like a carefully planned intrigue involving religious groups and politicians who need to wear a mask and divert attention from heaven only knows what sinister crimes .. Of course , it'll do the gay cause no end of good elsewhere and the Ugandan LGBTs can always leave the country .. No fear, the local heteros will soon procreate more gays for Museveni and Co. to rant about while counting the accumulating profits of sundry shady manouvres ..

Yet you're living in a European country....can't help but wonder why. You blacks leave Africa, move to western countries and freeload off of them, then have the nerve to whine and complain. Stay the hell in Africa where you belong if you don't like the west.

Thanks, dude. We are not going to take any more of that "gay rights" crap. The Asians are not having it. I wish more Europeans would take a stand against it. And I wish more Africans would pass the death penalty against it.

There is some irony in this comment when evangelicals from amerikkkkka have been "advising" Ugandans on this issue.

" ... in signing the legislation passed by lawmakers, Museveni said he rejected such reaction as interference in Ugandan affairs."

Religion rears its ugly side once again.
