This should be looked at as an opportunity, not a liability. I see this picture and I see a huge opportunity to do ground breaking work on recycling and storm proof construction.

There is no debating the fact that the territory of PR, due to political corruption and fraud is bankrupt. The electric company which is owned by the state was also bankrupt and their electric grid like much of the territory's infrastructure was failing long before the storm due to lack of maintenance.
Trump is absolutely correct to point out the fact that this disaster is no excuse to ignore the financial issues that plague PR. The politicians who created the situation as well as the voters of PR who allowed it should not expect to see their entire infrastructure, which was already on the verge of catastrophic failure, replaced at the expense of the U.S. tax payer while the corruption and incompetence that created it is allowed to continue.
Sadly as usual those that suffer the most are not the ones responsible for the situation and the ones who are responsible, PR's "leaders", are now trying to direct the people's anger at Trump and Washington when they in fact are the real culprits.

Yes, blaming the victims for his failures and throwing them paper towels is about all Puerto Rico or any other part of America can expect from Trump in an emergency.

So PR has become a bankrupt borderline third world country just in the last 9 months.

Try again, eh.

Well, lets hope staunch liberal supporter and powerful movie mogul Harvey Weinstien produce this P.Rican tragedy into an Academy Award winning motion picture.

That'll help!

Thank goodness Barack Obama put America on a solid pace of economic expansion and job creation.

Unfortunately since January the Barack Obama pace of 200,000 jobs per month has not been realized.

Then why isnít Trump taking the opportunity to be a kind benefactor to Puerto Rico?

Why doesnít Trump tell the Puerto Ricanís that they are suffering because of the ďliberalsĒ.

It would make Trump the Super Hero and he could shame the Liberals by being a generous and gracious savior.

But instead Trump blames the Puerto Ricanís and acts like a jerk when he visited.

Again, another opportunity that Trump appears to go out of his way to ruin.

You mean why isn't Trump buying votes with taxpayer's money and telling Puerto Rico that he will forgive their debts, rebuild the island better than it was and allow the crooks that bankrupted the island to continue business as usual.
Again Trump tells it like it is rather than trying to buy votes with tax money and short term solutions that line the pockets of the corrupt.
The fact is that Puerto Rico is going to have to change the way it operates just as the entire nation needs to change if we expect to all prosper and leave our children with a better future. There are a lot of swamps to be drained and those that feed in the swamp will resist.

Flippant remarks are not helpful.

I realize that Clinton created a problem with how businesses made money from Puerto Rico.

He thought he was helping and unfortunately what he did was make a bigger problem worse, and companies moved out of Puerto Rico causing a drain on jobs.

Unintended consequences are horrendous should be addressed as soon as possible. I do blame Clinton and Obama for not doing more to set this right. I can be a Liberal and also hold the Democrats accountable for the mistakes they make. Why is that such a surprise?

But blaming Puerto Ricanís for their situation is like blaming a child for getting the flu. Children donít get to make decisions about whether or not they get the flu shot. That is up to their guardians.

So Puerto Rico isnít a state and at the mercy of all the decisions made in Washington. And yet, when Washington made a bad decision that ruined their economy, they get blamed by the new POTUS while they are suffering from the worst disaster they have ever experienced.

Again, Trump had an opportunity to be the good guy. Instead, he insulted people who were suffering, blamed them for a problem they didnít cause and threw paper towels at them like a King throwing scraps to peasants.

Just once I want to see Trump do something good with heart. Something to prove that he isnít the self entitled jerk that he presents so often through his harmful rhetoric and actions.

And every single day he goes out of his way to be boorish, insulting, and basically mean-spririted.
