As a public service, we have created an online Discussion group for Landscape Professionals and for water board officials to share best practices, ideas, etc for managing Landscape in both DROUGHT Times and in GOOD Times, too.
We have already added several prominent "EXPERTS in the field", I am so very appreciative they are willing to join in. So we are well on our way to achieving goal number 1. I would; however, like to see some contribution and active participation by the State and local water boards. The Link to our Introduction and goals is: http://www.managelandscapewater.com Please consider Joining in the Discussion - do it today! We may also be followed on Twitter: http://twitter.com/landscapewater/ |

Can't we just export more water? I don't understand...Seattle has plenty of water...send it over!

Gotta cut back on watering all those lawns.... sorry guys.
|

No, Seattle needs to not share their water. Keep your resources. Just because you're able to conserve, doesn't mean you have to share! |

Maybe this is just a hint that we shouldn't live in the desert?

We are totally sucking the earth dry.

Droughts are tough. Some states have been experiencing them a lot longer.

California is in a three-year drought and so I have to pay more for avocados and almonds. Maybe I'll grow my own.

1. California is a Mediterranean climate. Yet, every summer, the media freaks out that it hasn't rained in CA from April to November, despite that being the definition of a Mediterranean climate. Furthermore, February - March has seen most of coastal to central CA receive over 150% of its regular monthly rainfall, with the majority of the state out of drought classification by now. Additionally, between now and this week-end, most of CA is on track to receive over 4" of rain and the mountains receive over 25" of snow, which would bring annual totals of every major CA city well above yearly averages. The drought is a myth. The government pretends there is a drought to impose draconian conservation efforts on people to appease leftist kook constituents. If CA was really that concerned about drought, they would build more reservoirs to handle the hundreds of billions of gallons of runoff from the burn areas and debris fields.
