2013 a tranquil year for tornadoes so far
The USA is enjoying its second-consecutive below-average tornado season, and one of the quietest years in more than two decades, according to data from the Storm Prediction Center.

As with last year it has also by & large been a low level hurricane season too. last year, practically all the hurricanes in the Atlantic season were "Atlantic" rather than Caribbean. This year there has been a significant lack as a result of the growth of the Asia-Pacific hot pool which has slightly "squelched" the subtropics & tropics in the Americas hemisphere on the opposite side of the planet from the hot pool.
Nice to see the monsoonal flow fed tornado season has been a mite flat but there has been more emphasis on "monsoon" than the previous year when it got rather dry in the USA.
Things on my side of the pond rather drier than last year which improved things a lot. Did get a mite windy in the south a couple of weeks ago.
Still living in climate mode#3 looks like no signs of a change yet but definitely NOT a flat ocean moderated climate as the mode is still running cold @ just above its switch on temperature.
