Harkins: 'Impact will be felt for next several days'

Stratford is beginning to recover from what town officials are calling a "significant weather event" that has left thousands without power and wreaked havoc on the town's low-lying and flood prone areas.

Seems if you posted less you would have more time to do things and give your children some time. I found this power outage is great. Spending time with the family. My neighbors had a bond fire. The adults and children had a great time. No electronics. Now that our power is back all the neighbors want to have a lights out night and spend some quality time together. We were actually mad when our power was restored. I think the mayor should have some rolling black outs. It seems to bring the community together. Besides Lynn, from what I hear you look better in the dark.
Lol!! You know nothing about me. One of my kids is in college, and is away at school. The other is in high school. They are quite self-sufficient. Bond fire? Perhaps you meant BONfire? "mad when [your] power was restored"?? You honestly expect anyone to believe that? Come ON.
I may "look better in the dark", but at least I don't have to look at YOU. And you've never seen me, so maybe you should reserve judgement. So yeah, grow up.

I live in a small town where ice storm left everyone without electrice for up to 2 wks. We never egged the people trying to restore our electricity. The temps was right around zero but we new they were doing the best they could. You all have suffered an awful event but so have millions. Rumors run wild as I see on here. Have patience and help one another. You do not want to be seen as another New Orleans.

We lost power on Monday at around 6 p.m. Here it is THURSDAY and still no power, while others on the next block over have it, and have had it since the beginning of the storm. What gives? They deliberately turned a LOT of peoples' power off "for safety reasons". What horseshit. They deliberately turned power off so they could use this storm as an excuse to REPAIR lines that should have been repaired YEARS ago and weren't. Oooopsy. Got caught lying again. All those power company CEOs haven't earned and don't deserve the big bucks, lying to people like they do. What about people who have little kids and no heat? What about people whose medication needs to be refrigerated? What about the thousands and thousands of dollars worth of FOOD that people have had to throw away because it went bad?
Harkins and his ilk can kiss my ass. There's no way in hell I'll vote for that lying sack. And I'll settle down when honesty, and not bullshit, is the order of the day.
Wow. Did you go to one of the charging stations to juice up your computer. You have a lot of time to post. I have to agree with Mitch. You should do something constructive and read a book.

The crowd you`re preaching to isn`t here. Blacks are too stupid to read, and are incapable of deciphering compassion or remorse.

DAYS???

Get a grip: DECADES

For many residents it is TEOTWANY/MJKI - The End of the World As New York/New Jersey Knew it.

Naked them came into the world. Now too, too many face that world with only the clothes on their backs, empty pockets - "pockets" unfitting to even hold dreams - except invisible shards of shattered lives.

Pray God it does not go the way of New Orleans....
