I don't think it will kill all the polar bears. It may trim their numbers to a few in remote and very northern locations, but most will either die or be merged with land based brown bears which will keep most of the genes alive (until the ice returns).
Focusing only on the damage to this ONE species diverts attention from the range and breadth of problems that are being generated in the Arctic.
