Anyone paying attention knew it was a temporary reduction in payroll deductions intended to put more money in people's pockets short-term, as part of the recovery.

If they DIDN'T know, why don't you blame them for it? That's what Conservatives usually do, isn't it?

Incidentally, there was no "tax increase." There was an increase in SS payroll deductions back to the previous level. Let's be clear on that.

For those confused about the payroll SS increase, it's like this:

If I pay $250/month in rent month after month after month and then hit a bad spot, say I lose my job, and my landlord decides to be nice to me and say 'Make it $150/month the next couple of months, until you get a job'....and I get a job and go back to paying $250, I don't call that a "rent increase." That's just going back to paying the normal amount.
