Feds' plan curbs coal's future
Linking global warming to public health, disease and extreme weather, the Obama administration pressed ahead Friday with tough limits on carbon pollution from new power plants, despite protests from industry and Republicans that it would dim coal's future.

There is no 'curb' on coal. There is only a need for it to COMPETE on an 'equal footing' with energy sources that do not pollute and cause disruptive climate changes.
Not that this will affect the heavily coal funded politics of the mining regions. OTOH, a lot of those are starting to turn to Natural Gas and Wind as a way to clean the air and lower the health costs.
