Dunnavant's Mall,Binford Court Housing Units, Heart of Huntsville Mall, the area around The Huntsville Times, The Leeman Ferry Rd around the Parkway,Hobbs Island Road at south Parkway and Fisher St in South Huntsville with water coming up to the SCI building, the Big Spring lagoon all the way back to the Huntsville utilities building including their basemant. All the area where the VBC sits today, parts of owens Cross Roads and New Hope and people still build where it's not a matter of if but when. These folks gamble when they won't consider flood insurance. The Huntsville Library has a picture of the flood of approx 1875 showing the whole Big Spring area South flooded so it may be true about the hundred year flood.

Was Binford Court the apartments that you could see from Governors Dr. on the right side of the road past the hospital heading for Guntersville, they may have been off of Whitesburg Dr.? I remember seeing these abandoned apts., that were vacated around 1965-1966, what was the name of that complex and the history of why they were abandoned?
