Arctic sea ice extent, Arctic sea ice extent, 7,669,531 km2 (July 18, 2013), the day's large loss, S.Dakota-sized. Average temperature above the 80th degree parallel temporarily touched 2 degC. Siberian temperatures above the Arctic Circle are high, 29degC(84 degF) & temperature on the Siberian Arctic Ocean itself is 26degC(79degF). Early morning Canadian temperatures bridging the Arctic Circle are 15degC(59degF).
