Use caution when entering the water when the ocean is slightly rough!!!!!!!!

People who ignore warning signs and get their stupid okoles in trouble should be handed the rescue bill.

Some states already have it...If you choose to leave your common sense (which is not so common anymore) at home then HERE is the $XXX rescue bill to help pay our fire dept, coast guard, etc.

Like the morons who go beyond the wires at Blowhole or idiots at Sandys. A few $100,000 tabs might spark some sense back into them. Signs they ingore until we hit their pocketbooks.

Let these fools help fund our wonderful protectors.

It depends on where you are. Hal Point, Full Point, or Shore Break. I grew up body surfing Shore Break all times of the year in all kinds of surf. The important thing is to respect the water and don't panic, no matter what. Tuck your chin when a wave picks you up so you don't break your neck when it slams you back down. Don't inhale until you're ABOVE water. Like most situations in this life, it can be managed by discipline and respect.

I think all of you need to get your story straight... this is someones husband, brother, son, friend.... and all you have to say is this BS about how hes stupid, didnt have fins, blah, blah ... Im just wondering where you get your facts from because I haven't seen any news article discussing his intelegence levels, whether he was wearing fins, if he should or shouldn't have been out there. I do know this man and his wife personally, he was an expirienced surfer, and he would not have put himself purposly in a situation that he didn't think he could handle. He wouldn't want to risk his life when he knows that there are so many people out there that love him. There is obviously more to the story then you are getting. So far the reality of it is that he was just caught in the wrong place at the wrong time... it happens to everyone at some point in their lives and unfortunatly for him the outcome was tragic. So stop using the word stupid when someones life may have been loss. If anyone here is ignorant it is the person who thinks that its ok to publicly post such rude things about a person they don't even know at a time like this.

sorry for the confusion heartbroken ... we are discussing two different stories

the "no fins" story is about the guy and his girlfriend that took some lumps at Sandy Beach

they are ok --- just lucky and stupid
