Romney takes "feel-your-pain" tone as Sandy slams East Coast

Hurricane Sandy, one of the biggest storms ever to hit the United States, battered the densely populated East Coast on Monday, shutting down transportation, forcing evacuations in flood-prone areas and interrupting the presidential election campaign.

If you want to place blame, look no further than Mayor Nagin, who didn't put the federally filed and approved NO evacuation plan into affect. And the stupid governor, who hemmed and hawed for eighteen hours after she was advised to, before ordering mandatory evacuations.
All city and school buses were to be used to evacuate those without transportation.
None of those buses moved, and the media choppers kept flying over parking lots filled with buses exactly because they knew the buses were supposed to be used.
Makes the Superdome the emergency shelter, but with five days notice, didn't stock it with water, food, sanitation or security personel to keep the NO hoodlums from wreaking havoc.
Had armed gangs roaming the city, citizens and plenty of uniformed officers too busy looting to get out of harms way. Those same gang bangers were shooting at rescuers in the days that followed.
3000 rescues happened the day after Katrina in three states. Cities in Alabama and Mississippi suffered far less fatalities and people in need of rescue because the governors and the mayors did what they are supposed to do...they made sure everyone got out. Biloxi was practically wiped off the map, but there were very few fatalities because no one was there.
Hate Romney? Good for you. Blaming Bush for NO and all the people who, for various reasons, decided to try and ride it out? Ridiculous.
