Australia is drying out thanks to our emissions

Jul 13, 2014 Full story: New Scientist 153

Australia is drying out, and it's largely our fault. The south-west of the country can expect to see average annual rainfall drop by 40 per cent compared with the mid-20th century, and a new model suggests that the main cause is human greenhouse gas emissions.

If they really want to hold public conscience to ransom they need to bash us over the head with a big fat heavy book crammed with guilt-inducing labels, based on the Zionist Crime Factory technique, coining novel felonies all ending with "ism"?
So for example we would be obliged to cringe under charges of ...
"Carbon-dioxideism", "Heaterism", "Air-conditionerism" , "Power-userism", "Car-driverism", "Electric-motorism", "Refrigeratorism", "Fan-heaterism", "Airline-flightism", "Electric-lightism", "Rail-travelism", "Recreationism" ...

The Zionist Crime Factory model points the way!
lol!

Go away to perform an open heart surgery, LOL.
SpaceBlues wants me to go away because he has no response to the most recent IPCC report.

The most recent IPCC report (if you do the simple math) shows a slowed 15 year rate of warming equal to one degree C in 300 years. It even allows for the possibility of cooling!

SpaceBlues has no response. His lack of knowledge and of credibility is exposed.

He's just a cut/paste chior boy in the church of AGW, able to spout doctrine (and shout burn the heretics) but little more.

A climate summit will take place at the UN in New York on 23 September 2014. According to the World Meterological Organization 2013 tied with 2007 as the sixth warmest year on record, continuing a long-term global warming trend, with 2001-2010 ranking as the world's warmest decade.

P.S. These are numbers to be concerned about. Climate Records WERE Shattered in 2013.

One hundred and ten million tons of man-made CO2 are released daily into our breathing air.

If you don't accept global climate change, do you believe in pollution? Do you think we have an infinite supply of fossil fuels? Wouldn't you prefer a clean and efficient and reliable form of energy driving our economy rather than having wars and toxic air and water and being at the mercy of exhorbitant pricing and enriching arab sheiks due to our reliance upon oil and coal?

There's a meeting of Cardinals of the Church of AGW soon. Oh goodie! Nothing like a good sermon! Never mind the numbers.

I think we can safely disregard our choirboy by now. It's obvious that he has been stricken down with a virulent strain of Ideological Rabies for which there is no cure.

What I would rather do is take this thread off at a more constructive tangent ... brainstorming some innovative remedies for the theme that underlies this thread.

I have several suggestions to set the ball rolling, but unless I see signs of interest in doing that I'll save it for another thread ... sometime.

O'h boy! Go back to school and learn about the climate change that has occurred on this planet since it has existed. Regions have changed from tropical lush rain forests to desserts etc etc. No amount of money will fix it and unless we are prepared to give up the life style that we have, it is all pie in the sky. There are as many papers on disputing global warming as there are on it. Did notice that when it was stated that there had not been any global warming in the last 15 years, the name then became climate change. What ever happened to the facts that we have an axis and it is shifting and tilting and that would cause changes in weather and climate?. What ever happened to the fact that we are travelling closer to the sun?
A price on Carbon is a tax. Nothing else. I do agree that we should look at renewable sources, but not nuclear power . In order to reduce any emissions, the whole planet would need to commit. Can't see the younger generation giving up there I phones let alone getting everyone to go back to pre electricity era.I know this sounds simplistic, but it the basic facts without the hype.

Some of my sentiments exactly.
There is no guarantee that making all of these changes would give us the desired results.
The climate changes with or without human interference.

Lol. What a dimwitted array of strawman questions. Let me ask you these questions genius. Do you believe a horse shitting in the middle of a dirt road is less pollution than an internal combustion engine burning gasoline emitting a non pollutant COS along with a few other gasses? Do you ignore the amazing increase in known fossil fuel reserves over the last few decades? Where we now have enough KNOWN ACCESSIBLE reserves to last decades? Due to an amazing technology called fracking? Do you support the technology driving the Prius which is known to produce real and lethal pollution? More pollution than a hummer produces over its lifetime? Do you support the ignorant restrictions on drilling in the United States consummated by enviro Nazis which allow those Arab Sheiks to become so wealthy? I look forward to seeing your Luddite rear driving down the road powered by its solar cell roof technology.

If solar power and other clean renewable forms of energy are not yet sufficient for producing all our power needs it's because big business is not interested in enhancing and diseminating the technology. The first computer was a piece of shyt compared with today's computers and there have been some wonderful advancements in solar technology which we rarely hear about (such as slither technology which increases the surface area of panels substantially and using more intense black to capture far more sunlight). Where there is a will there is a way but the will generally only comes when there is a profit to be made and it does not upset existing powerful vested interests.

LMR is wrong. The laws of physics, so far, keep solar power from being able to meet our needs. Battery technology is not up to the task either. Solar and battery technology would both be needed to meet home electrical needs.

And do you know what will occur after this summit? Absolute FA!(Fcuk All) How about the USA place a price on their carbon emissions over the last 100 years! Their mainly responsible for the 1.5 trillion tonnes that has been emitted.

Well, actually, 1751- 2012, one third of the world's cumulative CO2 emissions were owned by the USA.

What should be done to change the status quo?
