News article was a mite short. Looks like trouble for Tohoku is coming in triplicate. The rain @ least will assist in clearing the distal radioactive fallout from Fukushima daiichi (further south).
Next for Tohoku will be volcanoes.
Good news is that the volcanoes will be even better at removing radioactive fallout from the surface dust load. There may be a few years gap for volcanism as the magma filled fractures injected in subvertical fractures into the base of the solid crust during decompression during the 2011 megathrust earthquake & r/lx (rebound/long duration mercalli X)+ bloody great big tsunami... will need to be recompressed & will travel sideways at the base of the crust until finally hitting a wall and then erupting through a volcano.
Volcanoes to watch are Iwate, and Towada close to the point of greatest runout & decompression.
Have a nice day: Ag
