It's fitting that states with the highest percentage of climate science deniers, (and other anti rational types, like fundies and gun nuts,) are most at risk for drought and water shortage.

Not the first time a grasshopper invasion hit the midwest after a years long drought.

The various droughts are getting unusual, especially when considered in light of too much water in the form of rising seas and more extreme monsoons and more hurricanes out of season and out of their usual areas in other places.

Also, any droughts now are in an ecosystem in which water demands from the population are too high even when there isn't a drought.

As I was saying, it's interesting where the science deniers are concentrated - where the water reserves in the US are the worst off.

Perhaps we can look back on history to the Romans and their aqueducts.

If we could capture and channel most of the 5 o'clock rain showers over Florida and channel that to the Midwest...

Of course, the capacity structure of said aqueducts would need to withstand the occasional hurricane or 5.

But that would take a national effort like the Interstate Highway system but doesn't have the same military value.
