For those of you whom doubt the impact potential, I'll be the one laughing at you in 10 years wearing a t-shirt with the message I told you so. What's next, a refutation on whether or not the earth is round. Hold your tongue until you do scientific research of your own that comes to any different conclusions, otherwise shut up and listen, son.
<quoted text>
Please explain to me why the earth was 2 degrees warmer 1,000 years ago ("The medevil warm period")?

Why were CO2 levels elevated when humans didn't consume any fossil fuels?

If the North Pole Ice Cap has never melted before why is it not Thousands of feet thick?

The fact is, the climate is in constant change. We either adapt or die like the Vikings in Greenland. I was taught that Greenland was misnamed to attract Norse settlers. Theory now exists that they named it Greenland because it was GREEN.

We are in the midst of the worst economic conditions since the great depression. If we don't fix the economy, then it won't matter anyway. Gasoline consumption in this country today is at the same level it was 10 years ago. Since the population has increased during that time that is a REAL decline in use. Did we need a bill in congress to achieve this? No, just $4.00/gal gasoline prices and an economic collapse.

It is my opinion that we are nowhere near the bottom of this economic cycle yet so I expect gasoline consumption to continue to decline.

People, there is no global warming-this is the biggest hoax in history and just a way to invoke a global tax to put us back in the 19th century. Gosh, if you believe this garbage you are beyond help!

I don't understand how all of you can think that global warming isn't already happening. Have any of you read Al Gore's book "Inconvenient Truth"? If not, I suggest you do. If you don't like to read, this book has alot of pictures that prove that global warming is going on. The reason that most of us do not believe that global warming is going on is due to the lack of interest by the government -- they talk about it when they want to get elected and then throw it by the wayside. If we want our chidren and grandchildren to live, we need to take action now!
bye bye

Seriously? Al Gore invented the internet, now he is an expert on global warming. Why doesn't he work on curing cancer? Of course if someone else cures cancer, he will take credit anyway.

(CNSNews.com )– A final draft of the Republican Party platform includes a first-ever plank on global warming that says human activity has contributed to climate change.
"The same human activity that has brought freedom and opportunity to billions has also increased the amount of carbon in the atmosphere," the draft reads. "Increased atmospheric carbon has a warming effect on the earth."

Legislators Framing Climate Bills Hold Energy Stock

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1245197049934...

As Congress moves ahead with climate-change legislation touching almost every corner of the energy industry, a number of lawmakers shaping the debate have investments in companies that would be affected by the results.

Rep. Edward J. Markey (D., Mass.), one of the lead authors of a House bill that would favor alternative-energy sources, had investments of between $51,000 and $115,000 in the Firsthand Technology Value Fund at the end of last year. Three of the top 10 holdings in the Ohio fund are solar-energy manufacturers.

Some House and Senate leaders also held stakes in the energy sector. In 2008, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif), in her husband's name, owned between $15,000 and $50,000 in Clean Energy Fuels Corp., a Seal Beach, Calif., natural-gas company.

A spokesman for Ms. Pelosi didn't return several calls seeking comment.

If your children and grandchildren are unable to adjust to an ever-changing climate then the gene pool will be cleaned up.

Personally I am more concerned about the next cooling trend than I am about any continued warming. Civilization has suffered greatly during colder times. This will happen whether we do anything or not.

So what does this bill do that is so earth shattering? NOTHING!!

This is a FEEL GOOD, DO NOTHING Bill. I propose that we let the global economy completely collapse. That way CO2 emissions will plummet.

The difference between this bill and my plan is... My plan would actually do something about CO2 emissions.

Who are all these people wanting to play God? Really amusing when they tell us how we should live and they are burning more fuel than any ten of us. Gore and his group are making so much money off of this scam. It is now time that we group together as americans and say NO. Forget being a Dem of Rep. We need to vote them all out and get things in shape. Cant fix being in debt by spending more money. GET REAL

As devastating effects go, it would be far better for the planet if it really was warming instead of cooling. Life prospers in warm, wet climates but dies in cold, dry climates.

So if anything, the hoaxers should be playing the "Global Cooling" scam if they really wanted to scare people. These leftists can't get anything right.

So Which Is It?
Are we going to dry up, or are we going to drown?
12 degrees increase in less than 80 years when the last 180 years saw an increase of .01 degrees? Really?
There is not a PHD among any of the members of this group who put out the report. And for you accusers of "paid denyers," how about you being paid conspiratorial kooks? You are all under some guilt for one thing or another. You NEED to FEEL you are HELPING THE PLANET!!! Get therapy and an education from a real school. Global Warming is a THEORY! It is not fact. If it was, we would all be dead by now using ALGORE'S science.
Now, if you need to have self worth, or that you are helping people out, help PEOPLE! Reach out to local needs. Stop worrying about the freaking climate. You cannot DO anything about it. You can FEEL something about it. You truly cannot do anything...at all.

Oh, and by the way...IT SNOWED IN DULUTH JUNE 9TH!!!!!! Then, it was 85* on June 20th there. I was running Grandma's marathon that day and it was ridiculously hot. Then next day...IT WAS 60*! So, is this all Global Warming?
