Yes, it will be very hot and humid in the daytime so you will need to stay close to air conditioning. Every evening about 5 PM there will be a massive thunderstorm moving east from the Everglades to the ocean. If you are lucky, there could be a hurricane in which case you will be evacuated to some lousy inland motel and be gouged five time the usuals price for the room. You will also witness Floridians waiting in line 3 hours for gas and fighting over the last can of tuna and last bottle of water at Publix. The TV news will be whipped up into a hysterical frenzy with 24 hour coverage of nothing important at all. It's really quite lovely.

Now now, in all fairness, you forgot the fist fights and armed guards at Home Depot.

By then gas will be +$5/gal, milk will be +$5/gal, State Farm average policy will be $12,000 a year, all City services of police and fire will be scaled back to one of each, and you should be the victim of a theft or armed robbery about once a week.
Oh, and bring plenty of water as SFWMD will have drained Lake O and there will be none left.
Enjoy

There are really only two things you have to prepare for: the heat and afternoon rain. Basically, it's extremely hot all day long and it usually rains in the late afternoon. It's warm and humid at night, except if you're near the beach, where it's breezy and more comfortable. Western suburbs are a living hell, stay near the beach.

You think Floridians are harsh on New Yorkers (we are), try having a conversation with a true North Carolinian about the newly transplanted. You'll hear some curse words in a Southern twang that you might not be prepared for. And don't put too much butter on your grits, it makes them high in cholesterol.

LOL...sooooo true. My parents have a vacation place on Beech Mountain. We talk to the locals all the time when we go down to Boone. They DESPISE the newly transplanted Floridians that have been popping up all over the Carolinas. They are not shy about expressing their feelings, either. Of course, they are talking about Floridians who came via NY, not TRUE Floridians. True natives are polite, mellow and everyone loves us!

May I have the phone number of your supplier? Mine isn't anywhere near as strong as yours apparently.
