The "Today" show's Al Roker begins an hourlong weekday morning show on The Weather Channel at 6 a.m. today, "Waking Up With Al Roker," with co-host Stephanie Abrams.

I no longer regularly tune in to the weather channel because of him. It's become a sad former remnant (morning weather) because of this change

It appears he repeats again at 10 a.m.I thought i could avoid him by sleeping in, but no. I feel sorry for Stephanie, who does know weather and is actually interesting. Al sucks the whole quality of twc right down.

Roker is a challenged wanna-be entertainer, who's idea of humor is to yell, shout and act the buffoon.
Sadly, this is "The Weather Channel" Al, not the "Gong Show".
I no longer tune in, because I actually want the weather.I am not interested in Al's slant on race, politics or the state of the world. Thankfully, I have found my local stations weather reports to be quite competent.
In taking care of your boy NBC, you have trashed a decent station. But, then again, you seem to have a talent for doing that.

I would have to agree, It is painfull to watch him. I no longer watch the weather channell in the morning. He talks over people, is loud and obnoxious and not very funny...everything I don't want to hear or see first thing in the morning.

I Googled "wake up with al sucks" and this is the first site that pops up. I just had to do it. I work in a job that makes me need to know the weather around the country every day. It was nice to wake up, have coffee and watch the weather channel to get that weather. Today I gave up...I will have to use my internet resources to get the weather from here on out. I can't do TWC anymore!!!

Please bring back the Weather Channel regulars like in the old days - I cannot watch Wake Up With Al - too many distractions and not enough weather. It's so obvious NBC bought TWC - HORRIBLE!! I especially hate the MSNBC "updates" - what is with that? If I wanted to watch MSNBC I would be watching it instead of the Weather Channel!!! Grrrrrrrr.......

Would you please bring back the weather channel...where it actually is the weather channel...Al Roker has killed it for me...hate him...don't want to see him first thing in the morning let alone hear him...I need weather not his line of crap...bring back the people that actually know weather and lets get this back to where peolpe with 2 minutes can tune into the weather channel and get weather...give me a break...your changes to the line up suck.

wake up with al sucks, he yells, they have stupid msnbc updates, stupid music on the local forecast that has people singing. when has the local forecast music ever had lyrics, how stupid! Stephine Ambrans is annoying.

weather channel is a failure, their forecasts are inconsistent and constantly changing, never accurate

from now on i will stick to local tv channels, and internet forecasts from noaa or weatherunderground

stupid weather channel, instead of forecasting during prime time tv, they have stupid episodes of storm stories which we have all seen a million times in last 10 years, weather channel sucks!

I can't stand TWC anymore. I'm so relieved that others share my feelings. The hokey nature of it all, the bad jokes, the fakey-behavior - the weird news and weather stories with even worse commentary - oh puhhhllllease get rid of this travesty of weather reporting! I can no longer watch TWC at all. I just give up. I was loyal for hours each day for years before this. Now that Roker has put his thumb-print all over it, it is painful indeed to watch. I take that back, it isn't just his thumb-print, it's like he's rolled round all over TWC bodily! Please get TWC dry cleaned and return it to us. Will our posts matter? Can we send TWC powers to read this? I want the old stuff back - pre-Roker!!

I wish we could go back to the Weather Channel I remember from the 1990's. Wake up with Al is absolutely terrible. Stephanie Abrams is not funny even when she tries to be. Oh, and Jim Cantore...don't even get me started on that Douchebag. In all seriousness though I vividly remember a dream I had about 16 years ago where there was news broadcasted on TWC as well as music vocals during the local forecast. Now unfortunately TWC has become that nightmare, and is only a mere shadow of it's former self.

The Weather Channel is no longer The Weather Channel. It's now just another NBC entity. Looks just like CNBC, MSNBC. Don't get it. The Weather Channel was so successful WHY change what was working? People tuned in FOR THE WEATHER not the news of the day or pitiful programming. If I wanted to see Al Roker, I'd tune into the TODAY SHOW. As many other folks have mentioned in this post, my family and I now tune into our local weather forecast. Very sad. NBC you really messed this one up!

Al, I gave you my best 6:00 a.m. shot of double caffeine and it just won't go down! The shouting, the yelling, the bad jokes, the rock music (which I love-just not at 6:00a.m.!) and most of all, Stephanie Abrams, who must have a rich uncle on the board of directors. PLEASE bring back the old weather channel! It was so-o-o-o-o-o much more pleasant to wake up to soothing music and the soft delivery of weather reports. Nicole Mitchell is a morning keeper. I am finding myself going to local weather and not even tuning in anymore. Directors, producers, and sponsors,-Are you listening to us!!!

the other day they were talking about porn on the weather channel. there was this wife talking about her husband having a man crush on Jim Cantore. this is just scary. then Jim Cantore starting talking about how he loves weather and how its like porn to him.

what the hell is going on, it was pre recorded and obviously scripted. who the hell do those producers think they are applying to.

i am stick of these stupid perverted jokes coming out of al roker, this is the freacken weather channel, not some porno!

what happened to our beloved classic weather channel of the 1990's? every time i turn on the weather channel, they are not talking about weather!
