New policy at Harrisburg gun show prohibits loaded guns
In a departure from previous policy, the new promoter's website clearly states "No loaded weapons ... no exceptions," to which Joe Staudt takes exception.

Surely some good arguments both side of the issue. Promoters are wary of being sued for accidents... those who are permitted to carry canceled want their rights respected. It boil down to: this venue will be a gun-free zone during show hours and it's a matter of conscience for attendees to decide how they want to act. Unless there is a way to spot those who disobey the rule, some will flout it and I see no problem with that. It's not a hangin' offence, you'll probably be asked to leave or be issued a trespass warning based on knowingly doing something that you were told to NOT do. However, I believe this will send a chill to many who might be on the fence due to a great distance travel and they'll just bag it.
I think those opposed to this rule should gather at a nearby public street location and protest/picket. Show the promoters in a way they'll understand, in their gate receipts, and by embarrassment. I don't know what the ticket cost is, but a hundred protesters might be representative of 300-500 who will NOT attend. And that loss could be $5,000! or more. That ain't chump change.
