it is his right, I'm not disagreeing with that. He still killed someone and no one is given that right unless they have no other choice. There was no physical evidence of Richard physically attacking him or hurting him. But, there was evidence of Damien being a violent man that night towards his own wife. He showed up uninvited to her parents' home with the intents to kill or hurt someone. A gun is a weapon used to kill and hurt someone. He knew EXACTLY what was going on and the reasons for taking a gun.

yeah but the charge wasnt for his wife and just because someone is carrying a gun doesn't mean he had the intention of hurtin someone or killing somebody. Why do you think a jury panel didnt convict? Duh. If you knew so much then why weren't you Richards lawyer?

<quoted text> he didn't just go to a Garza unit.. 2 years? You're full of crap, he did more than 2. He never ever claimed to be a badass. Don't trespass? His family has always been told they can go into the family's yard, his family would always help Alex and Lucinda, Janelle and Brandy would babysit his little sisters, Richard was in both of their weddings, those two families would come together for bbqs, they were more than just neighbors, they grew up together, they considered each other family. I'm sorry, but if your screaming for help, you're allowing help to come. Damien admitted to strangling Janelle in front of the jury! They caught them both in a lie! Had Damien been a man and been judged by a judge and not a jury, he would be in jail.
ok then a trustee camp. Wuss.

Not even a trustee camp, did he beat your ass or were you someone who was too scared to tell him how you felt to his face? Go say any of that to his family, they still live in the same place where they had to see their brother get murdered and die! The jury panel didn't convict because he was just released from prison, just like everyone else, they judged his outside and not his in and Damien was a loser in HS, so they think this loser couldn't possibly do that because he played video games. And, they through out there he had a child. Richard had two kids and what about them?
You don't have to be a psychiatrist to know what a weapon is used for genius. People buy weapons to protect themselves. A gun is weapon. A gun can cause severe bodily injury or death. When protecting yourself with a gun, you are then allowing yourself to kill or cause sever bodily injury to someone. He was aware of the possibilities of using a gun and still took it and pointed it at his wife! He took the gun off of safety, he knew he could easily overpower her without a weapon! Regardless of who the charge was against he still showed himself to be a violent person and in his state of rage, he killed someone! The jury was all probably paid off, no members of either side of the family were supposed to be talking to the jurors and yet Damien's family still engaged in conversation with them. Had his weasel ass been found guilty, he would have requested a retrial to keep his wuss ass out of jail. He wouldn't have done his time like a man.

Well, obviously you don't know anything that went on in the trial so when you learn any type of knowledge based on this case, then say something other than dumb crap like that. Yeah, he may not be tough now and wasn't trying to hurt anyone the night he was killed, but his innocence in the situation is all that matters to his family. There will always be someone trying to be ugly about another, but it takes a real man/women to be truthful and brave enough to confront the person. Obviously you are neither considering you are talking about a man who is no longer here to defend himself.

he didn't have to be brave to to be a man and owning up to what he did, he went through the entire judicial process and a court of law found him not guilty.

He didnt have to, even if he took the stand and admitted it. its also not what you know but what you can prove in court.

Richards innocence was proven in court, they just highlighted his past and left out that Damien is a violent person.
