Our society has some different ideas from you concerning the age at which young people are allowed to do things. We allow youngsters to young with guns and bows, many carry pocket knives, young people drive motorcycles and four wheelers. They even produce children! You don't have to have a mature brain to know it is wrong to kill. It absolutely doesn't matter what he went through in that home. Unless his life was in immediate danger, he did not have the right to kill his father. From what has been reported, he was not in physical danger the day he murdered his dad. What if his classmates has verbally abused him day in and day out. Would he be justified in killing one of them?

It is clear that your kind are the reason why kids today think they have a free pass to do and say as they please. They see a babbling example in you that shows them there will always be a way out no matter what they do.

Still a child murderer, no matter what was done to him. His father is still dead, even if he is a child.. You have made an outstanding argument that he is just a child. Hopefully, the judge and future jury will find his age to be irrelevant. The only influence his age should have on the case is what facility he is assigned to start his sentence. If he gets out and is struggling with depression and other mental issues due to what he has done, be sure to remind him he was just a child when he killed his own father. That should make it all better.

Why don't you go visit him? Maybe you can bring him a stuffed animal and a few good coloring books. That's what every child serving time for killing one of their parents needs to help pass the time.

Its truely funny how you would say that but if it were your child youd be the first one to their defense all parents would dont sit there and lie.

I have two sons. If one killed someone I would support the justice system. A killer is a killer. So what is your justification for one person killing another? People more educated than you and me have determined that criminals, killers, under 18 can be tried as an adult. That is why I would even wonder.......

I wont argue with people who are ignorant but i will say this.
I will support this young man.
you folks who comment stating he is guilty and wanna throw him in prison for life have absolutely no clue what this young man went through, i for one do know.
This child had been reported many times by neighbors and other family members to children services for being abused and he was never protected. Anyone forced into a state of mind is capable of doing the unthinkable and yes that includes you reading this. You think back to around 14 what your decision skills were and add abuse on top of that. Sometimes a act like this at the time it happen was mental freedom for this young man. Id only hope if i would had abused my child in this manner my child would free himself of it via whatever means nessasary and yes including the same type act. You cannot try this child as a adult givin his situation.

Then shame on the Franklin Furnace community. All the information about his home life, no body steps up to help him. It is not just the responsibility of social services to protect children. He could of freed himself by packing is stuff and walking out the door. He had a mother, teachers, friends, options. The ignorance here is trying to justify a murder. You go one thing right Brian, he is a young man.

Scioto county children services are nothing but a joke! You don't know what that kid went through to bring him to kill his father. Until you walk a mile in some else's shoes don't pretend that you know what you would have done in is his situation.

This boy was a scared little boy, who took abuse and if I was in his shoe's I would have done the same thing and got rid of my abuser father or not. You don't know what went through his young mind . At 14 your still a child!!!!
