How can they plead "self defense" when nobody else had a fire arm?!

Another lawyer strikes again. Self defense.....What? I'm sure the judge will agree. Sounds like a nice man with 129 priors who had no intention of shooting someone that night. Poor guy almost got attacked himself.

The legal system in Hawaii is broke and until the people stand up and scream for justice (and remove a few judges and lynch a few attorneys along the way) it will never change.

This punk should go to jail for a long time and all others who took part in the brawl should face charges as well.

Hey we go da kines house go drink like dat and I going take my gun! You won the fight that night. Now be a man and take the punishment bra. Pathetic!

If you can't afford a liar (lawyer)- one will be provided to you by the state...

Incompetant juries and judges also screw things up.

Self defence... Hah... My cherry red monkey behind.

Nuts is right!
Self defense? No way. Who carries a fire arm to a party?
What kind of party was this?
If you have time to walk away and go get your gun , you have time to flee. Where are his life threating injuries? What no more? I mean if this was happening at his home and his family was in danger than maybe but at a party, forget it.
Maybe he should have used the insanity plea , I hear that works well in cases where you can't find any other excuse for bad behavior and murder.

Once again, the drama-queen woman tells her man to enter a fight. "Go show-em, Tiger." The guy was carrying a gun because he was waiting for an opportunity to shoot someone, to show how gangsta he his. Half of the chronics around here carry guns too, I guess the anti-gun nutz ain't doin such a good job. The good guys can't carry, only the thugs.

Dustin Jimenez needs to be put away for life without parole. What he's doing carry a gun? Because he has a gun he's judge and jury? Lets see how tough he is life behind bars.

This is not about carrying a concealed gun it's about using it.

According to Hawaii law you are not suppose to carry a concealed gun, but if you do carry one and then kill someone because you got angry later on which was not your intention then your off free.

If you were angry beforehand then that called an intent to kill so then your guilty.
It's very important not to become angry until the last minute even though you were carrying a concealed gun.

The gun itself is not an issue. The only thing that really matters is if you were angry before or later on at the last minute.

Racism has no place in Hawaii for those who commented about the "flip". if you carry a gun, pay for the results of that choice. I agree, this person is a menace to our society. Put him in jail for a very long time.

I hope you're wrong on that. But it's interesting the defense didn't raise that option.

It's also going to be interesting to see how the 2nd amendment supporters view this.

The state of hawaii does allow concealed carry permits. The problem is they are subject to the approval of the chief of police, who has not issued a single one.

Hi Yeah

Crazy as it may seem this has been the trend in defense cases in Hawaii.

Have a nice day.

People of this State should have the right to carry firearms and the crime rate will go down. As in Texas, where it is legal to carry, the murder and crime rate has droped. Only law abiding citizens would be allowed to carry with the proper background checks.

In this case, if proper permits were issued.,,, maybe this wouldn't have happened.

Why did he pack a 22? He should have used a 44 or 357 magnum. Much more effective, one shot fired into the air, and everybody runs. it makes a lot of noise.

The federal firearm laws this punk broke would put him away for longer than the worthless judge will.
