Murder case mistrial: Too few jurors

A new trial will be scheduled next month for a southeast Missouri man accused of killing his girlfriend after a judge declared a mistrial for an unusual reason: Too few jurors.

The summonsed jurors who didn't show up should be ashamed of themselves for wasting the time of the court, the prosecution and the defense attorneys.

It takes weeks of preparation to present or defend a case like this, and costs the taxpayers thousands of dollars in re-subpoenaing witnesses, etc.
