Some guzzlers would rather tell you lies and pass nonsense restrictions for the "feel good factor" when the end results will be the same until the real issues of psych meds and mental cases are dealt with. We used to have state mental hospitals everywhere 25 years ago, try to find one now. They are gone for the most part and have been replaced by prescriptions. Obviously not working out too good. And we need to quit glorifying the mass murderers on the round the clock news media......it does feed their desire to be famous for out-do'in the last nutcase. Have guns, even those black scary looking ones you all pee yourself over but I can guarantee you that I have been thru vigorous background checks already to purchase, possess and carry. I am not a criminal and am not the problem. The criminals can however , get any gun they want by private crack house sales of stolen or non registered guns , kill you and no laws in the world will stop them. They don't care about restrictions, only schmucks like me are penalized and I have never, nor will I ever, use guns other than in a responsible way for sport shooting or hunting or self defense. Why keep infringing on my freedom just to make yourself feel good . It will not fix the problem.

Are you sure that you're not mentally ill? Better have that checked, again.

What doesn't make sense to me is that I can get just as many shots off with my mini 14 compared to my 556 sig. But my 556 is considered an assault weapon. What about the mini 14? This law will have no effect whatsoever. If the psycho can't get an assault rifle to do mass shooting then he will get something of the same caliber and the end result will be the same. Banning assault rifles is not the way to go. Stricter screening is the only way to cut down on gun violence.
You're right..we should ban that mini 14, too.

That's what you meant, right? I mean, if you're advoacating going after even more guns, that's fine, too.

So, you're saying that they're just as dangerous and should be highly regulated, as well, right?

I mean, semi-auto handguns with big clips are just as dangerous as any assault weapon, right?

I agree with you, they should be banned...kudos to you for being brave enough to stand against the gun lobby!

Hey, everybody, Richard_ is to be appalauded for recognizing that high-cap handguns are every bit as dangerous as high-cap assault weapons...maybe even more so due to their concealable nature!

He is proudly standing against the NRA and other gun owners by making these statements.

Ban high-capacity semi-auto handguns!

You idiots just keep talking...just keep telling America how ALL of your semi-autos are dangerous...not just some!

They'll be coming after those in short-order, too...LMAO.

I almost feel bad arguing with you... it's kind of like hunting a retarded deer with no sense of smell or hearing.

Do you get why America is having this conversation?

Sure...if tricked out Mustangs were used in a lot of murders...that would make sense, but they're not.

I don' think that you're paying close enough attention here.

Provisions in a sweeping gun control bill before the New York Legislature:

—Further restrict assault weapons to define them by a single feature, such as a pistol grip. Current law requires two features.

—Make the unsafe storage of assault weapons a misdemeanor.

—Mandate a police registry of assault weapons.

—Establish a state registry for all private sales, with a background check done through a licensed dealer for a fee, excluding sales to immediate relatives.

—Require a therapist who believes a mental health patient made a credible threat to use a gun illegally to report the threat to a mental health director who would then have to report serious threats to the state Department of Criminal Justice Services. A patient's gun could be taken from him or her.

In the classic history of Nazi Germany, They Thought They Were Free, Milton Mayer writes:

"What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, little by little, to being governed by surprise; to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if the people could not understand it, it could not be released because of national security. And their sense of identification with Hitler, their trust in him, made it easier to widen this gap and reassured those who would otherwise have worried about it.

"This separation of government from people, this widening of the gap, took place so gradually and so insensibly, each step disguised (perhaps not even intentionally) as a temporary emergency measure or associated with true patriotic allegiance or with real social purposes. And all the crises and reforms (real reforms, too) so occupied the people that they did not see the slow motion underneath, of the whole process of government growing remoter and remoter.

Similarly, America has - little by little - gone from a nation of laws to a nation of powerful men making laws in secret. Indeed, even Congress doesn't know half of what others are doing.
Secretive, unaccountable agencies are making life and death decisions which effect our most basic rights. They provide "secret evidence" to courts which cannot be checked ... and often withhold any such "evidence" even from the judges. For example:

10,000 less murders a year since a decline from the 1990s, 50% less violent crime during the same era and that is in spite of more people in the country and 100% increase in gun ownership.

There's no reason to talk with you people other than to remind you what idiots, fruit cakes and psychos you are, there is no reason to negotiate any new gun laws, especially since the federal government isn't enforcing the ones they have on the books.

What we need to be talking about, having a national conversation about is why hoplophobes are such crybabies and why they are so susceptible to believing in lies with their soft heads.

So last NIGHT the NY senate passes a gun control bill that includes an exemption to the aging clause which allows for immediate vote and passing of a bill. Doesn't want to allow time for gun sales before approval.

Also allow legal gun owners to 'request' privacy, how nice.
