There was a technical problem when we launched a newly edited version of this story and the comments from the previous one were lost. I copied and pasted them here so that they could still be seen.

Duct tape his hands to his feet, put him on roller skates and push him out into the prison yard. An eye for an eye.

This animal should not be released on any kind of bail, conditional or otherwise! There is no excuse or any kind of reasoning for this to have happened to this child. If he gets out on bail and comes any where near this girl, her mother should blow him into the next universe...WITHOUT fear of crimina prosecution!!!

I do so want to agree with you but it's been a very long long time sense anyone got what they deserve from our local courts. Murder and got 7 years in 2002+7=2009??? why is he free in the first place? See my point? Only the people can do what the courts don't see nessary, but we do!

Colby Crawford should never have gotten out of the pen in the first place. He was as guilty of murder as John Hunt is. Put both of them in the same cell and let them beat each other to death so we don't have to pay for their sorry butts to breath.

A murder plea bargained down to aggravated burglary and the leftists on the parole board over in Santa Fe let him out early !!!!

I always vote against the retention of any judge that comes up for a vote because you can't get any information/statistics with which to fairly judge their performance and what little you do manage to learn indicates that they are mostly leftist loons.

Some people just like it better being in jail, and commit crimes just to go back. The more serious the crime the longer the sentence, don't know but maybe that's what he was doing.

If that were the case, why didn't he go out and kill one of the other pain in the ass dirtbags in San Juan County and maybe then he could've gotten "life" 30 years, serve half, 15 years and then with good time, good behaviour, and pen over crowding, he could've maybe been in 10 years. It's called being institutionlized, that's the only place they feel secure. Idiots!

The 'Wheels of Justice' have begun and it will work to it's end. This criminal needs to get used to the idea of 'prison' and its brutality. He will then know how it feels to be a victim. No mercy for the pedophile.

Ya now imagine being a family member to have onced loved this person see the joy in his eye when that perfect little girl was born to have a brother that looked up to him so much and wondered what happened? When the Murder happened we loved Colby so much and gave him that second chance in our hearts but now... I am sick my family is sick and it scares me for my own kids you never think it touches home then it does if people were the closest to can do such an evil thing what would a stranger do? As a perent hold your kids as close as you can and believe in God I think thats all you can do. I have to believe it was the drugs that made this sick man not the person we Knew and many people I know, but I don't know i can't even imagine what would go through someones head!! I love his little girl and with the right support and love from everone will help her through this she has a great spirit and a good heart!!! Back her all the way!! HE WILL GET WHAT IS IN FOR HIM!!!!!!!

I went to school with Colby and his brother Cory. Colby was always in trouble in school but his brother is such a nice guy. I will be praying for Cory and his family.

Wow, this is unreal. Who would've thought that he could do such a thing, especially to his own daughter. I knew him growing up and never thought he would do such a thing. The murder situation was shocking, but this takes it to a whole new level. Children think now about your actions...I bet the mother (I knew her and her sister) is thinking real hard about her past decisions. Fighting for her man, despite how bad he was to her and now look where your fight got you...Not pointing fingers, the only victim is the innocent girl who didnt deserve such an attrocious thing to happen to her.
God Bless.

The truth will come out in the trial. I would like to think that no matter what a person does in san juan county that they are not guilty until proven so in a court of law. I have known colby and his family for many years and I will wait to pass judgement until the verdict has been passed down by the court. All of my prayers are with the entire family on both sides. Be strong.

In alot of cases I believe that to be true but alot of people get off due to lawers and money that does not mean he is not guilty and that comes from a family members point of view.... oh and His brothers name is Courtny not Cory.

Wow you all are ready to kill this guy, raping a child is something you should die for i agree but there hasnt been any kind of trial. This little girl could be making this stuff up. Dont be so quick to judge. But if guilty then deffinetly to the gallows.

I agree...but at the same time I heard about this before it even broke front page news. I'm not saying he's guilty and there is no way to find out until it is heard in court.
I dont know the girl, but, her mom's family haven't always been know to be angels either....

I'm not blaming the girl and if these charges are true, no one deserves to be put through this. But at the same time dont jump to conclusions until all is revealed. Farmington is a SMALL town and everyone has a past and I believe in karma and that goes both ways. You knowing the victim does't mean anything, i know the suspect as well and that doesn't make any more innocent or guilty for that matter.
