Thank God they caught him without anybody getting hurt. My kids have been on "soft" lockdown since yesterday when this all started and now it is over. I am glad the school system is prepared for situations like this now. Also, we need a better system to transport crimminals from one place to another. This way obviously does not work. Thank you

He has balls? Hardly. He's just a lazy thug with no motivation to do anything other than steal from other people who work for their money. He's desperate, that's all.

But now he's caught and can go back to obscurity where he belongs.

By the time he gets out most people who have been following his chase today will probably be dead.

Actually, I kind of felt sorry for him. He isn't a killer he's a thief. He was a trapped rat these two days and was bound to be caught. The Fed and police were too heavy on him. I am happy that he did not harm anyone. I don't think that was his intention. Although it was very terrifying to hear the choppers over my head all day on Thursday. The communities can sleep well tonight. He took a big chance on his life. He should just live out his sentence and become a better person. He doe not look dumb. He could have done good for his life but now I doubt it ever if he'll get any chance in life.

He is a Thug no doubt. It's too hard to get a job and make a decent and honest living like all of us. He put US ALL in harms way. He should have been locked up the right`way with investigators that could handle the job not some bozo's that could be taken over by a thief that was suppose to be shackled by his wrists and ankles. Please... I hardly believe that. That's what the county and state hires yoyos that can't handle the job. It better not happen again!!!!!!!!

What is with all this cuddly support for this guy? He escaped from police while charged with a crime, stole their money, gun and clothes, carjacked multiple vehicles at gunpoint, and you wish him well? He had plenty of chances to be "well", didn't he? The smart people here have it right: he's LAZY and WORTHLESS, and had proven it time and time again. I don't care if you're this idiot's friend -- he needs to spend the rest of his time on this beautiful planet back in his cage... not putting fear into those of us who deserve our freedom.

Actually he's stealing from banks. Money insured by our government. In his previous robberies he used a PELLET gun. You're ignorant if you think all bank tellers are female. Vulnerable? They work at a bank full of cameras and alarms. Not very vulnerable.

Yeah he has a few purse snatches on his record from years and years ago. Read his wrap sheet guy, he's been robbing banks for the last half of his career.

He hasn't killed anyone. Cowards don't walk into banks and demand money. Was John Dillinger a coward?

And he wasn't stealing from me... You know who is? All the financial institutions that got bailed out by the government with OUR money. Biggest heist in American History.

This guy is no different than John Dillinger.

Local Boy: Your boyfriend also stole money and vehicles from investigators and citizens. Go see him in jail and enjoy your conjugal visits. Give him a big sloppy one from those of us that are glad to see him back "home".

There is this story about a kid, who got into trouble a long time ago. A "friend", took him under his wing. This friend operating under the pretext as a father figure. Took the kid camping. Next thing you know, this kid runs away. Gets into more trouble. Ends up in jail at 16. It is all down hill from there. What happened to that kid on those camping trips?

Officers from over a dozen police agencies, the Cook County Sheriff's Police, Illinois State Police and US Marshals Chicago Task Force worked diligently for more than 24 hours to find Robert Maday. Their hard work and the diligence of an alert West Chicago patrol officer resulted in the capture of a violent, career criminal.

kudos to the police, JOB WELL DONE!

Does anyone know what makes us root for this guy? Professions please respond: My 18 year old son and a guy he works with were upset when he was apprehended yesterday.
Also He could of left the area many times, but didn't. He's a smart guy; he's proved that I wonder what his real motive to stay was?

He must lack map reading skills, or he'd have figured out how to follow an interstate out of Illinois.
