The cops are always having so called crack downs on the gangs in that area, and nothing seems to improve. Maybe they should bring the bears down from the foothills and let them eat the cholos.

This is because the Duarte Council voted pro gang and against the anti gang law. You get what you ask for.

The Losers South of the tracks. Duarte Eastside. Latino Gang.

Maybe the knuckle heads on the Duarte City Council should enact the Gang Injunction?

At least Monrovia is ready to take care of business. It's citizens won't put up with this crap.

Duarte gets upset with Monrovia because their new anti-gang laws got "tougher". Duarte didn't want to participate with neighboring Monrovia because the anti-gang laws were an "infringement" on the gang thugs constitutional rights. This is why I drive through Duarte with out stopping.

LOL Officials didn't want a gang injunction cause that would affect their own family members and friends that have ties to the gang.

What a f up world we live in.

They need to pick up some of the Dirt-rocs as well!!

As someone who knows something about Duarte, the comments on here sound especially ridiculous (comments? On the internet?! no!.
The majority of gang affiliated youth, don't live in the city limits of Duarte, but instead in the lawless "no man's land" to the southwest and east. Therefore, any injunction passed in the city would have the net effect of harassing Latino and African American youth (males mainly) and other minorities, whilst the real Hardcore elements could continue their affiliations.
Duarte needs to get real about the city's "ghettoizing" of the Low-end area and come up with a strategic way to meet the needs of all residents and business in the area - NOT THE residents and business it WISHES it had.
Sorry to bring reality/facts!
