This is such a tragedy! It doesn't matter what kind of person she may or may not have been, the fact remains she was a mother, a daughter, a sister, a niece , a granddaughter and the only person who has a right to withdraw someone's life is God! Larry had no right what-so-ever to even be on her street, let alone in her house. If I were a family member, I'd acquire her text msgs she had submitted to the Charleston P.D. just hours before her murder from Mr. Steeples and find out why they didn't have a car outside her home . She sent them msgs from him stating his intentions prior to carrying them out. Would she have gotten better protection had she been the daughter of one of them? A cry for help was ignored by the police and for what reason? Maybe they should feel a little of the pain her family's suffering and be suspended without pay for insubordination. The law enforcement is there to serve and PROTECT, not to ignore and neglect. Doesn't those texts he sent violate the order of protection? He should have been arrested right then and there , but wasn't. Do those officers feel good about the outcome of their negligence? Why wasn't Larry ordered to take Batterers classes along with anger management? I can only pray her family takes every step necessary to prosecute not only the murderer, but those who failed to protect her as well. My heart goes out to her children and family . I did not know her personally, but had family that did. May she rest in peace in knowing justice will be served. I'd let her family have at him and save the cost of a trial, and taking care of him for the rest of his life. If you think it's ok to take a life, then you should be ready to lose yours in return. Why should taxpayers take care of inconsiderate low life's?

What would Jesus do in this situation?

Understand what is in front of your face Jesus tells us in the Holy Bible. Understand that. Keep moving forward. Fear NO evil. Understand that.

John 3:16

Confused still? Consider what appears normal is NOT. Continue seeking knowledge always...it's revealed to you in the Truth. Fact. There is a beginning and a end. There is absolute Truth, it's exposed in our unveiling of the secrets withheld by the few from the many.

Peace. Trust. Love.
Live your life like it could be your last day..or minute. One day it will be the last for all of us. We know that right? Please be honest with yourself if you can't be here for obvious reasons. Pray to Jesus every night before you go to sleep and be thankful to Jesus you awoke the next morning. Life can be ended by OR for anybody in a blink of an eye.

Life is beautiful in my mind. What about yours?

This tragic murder and cover up of crucial evidence/ felony crimes(Official Misconduct) and obvious wrongdoing and public corruption by CPD and many others involved. This ALL needs exposed NOW by investigative citizen journalist obviously. The family should demand this malicious act be exposed to the public NOW to prevent others AT RISK to experience the same injustice and pain AND CONSEQUENCES of this malicious, predatory, predictable and preventalble vicious murder allegedly committed by Larry Steeples. We ALL MUST NOW DEMAND THE SA to ..Prosecute ALL those responsible for Gina' murder NOT just Larry Steeples. ALL THOSE INVOLVED. Sue ALL those responsible for this in a wrongful death civil lawsuit. Make them ALL pay.

Charleston Woman Backs Over Pedestrian

(Charleston, IL)-- People do crazy things when they get mad. Forty-six-year-old Gina Giberson was arguing with Larry Steeples Monday morning on 10thStreet in Charleston. When the 52-year-old Steeples went to get something from the rear of Giberson’s truck, she dropped the vehicle into reverse and hit the man before speeding off. Steeples was knocked to the ground and shaken up. Giberson told police she drove off quickly because she feared for her safety.

The Southampton Tapes

How one officer’s addiction exposed turmoil at the top of the departmentBy Sandra Peddie, David M. Schwartz and Will Van SantLt. James Kiernan, one of the Southampton Town Police Department’s top officials, faced internal affairs investigators in March 2012 with an audio recorder capturing his answers and his credibility on the line.At issue was when Kiernan knew that Police Officer Eric Sickles was abusing prescription pills and what he did to address it.The officer’s addiction would erupt into an embarrassing public scandal when the Suffolk County district attorney’s office asked judges to vacate the drug convictions of at least seven people, including five who filed false-arrest lawsuits against the town.Police Chief William Wilson Jr. had made Kiernan, Sickles’ direct supervisor and a man with influence in local politics, the focus of the investigation into what went wrong. Kiernan ultimately claimed vindication and blamed Wilson for unfairly targeting him after Southampton’s town board ended Kiernan’s unpaid suspension and sent him back to work commanding the patrol division at Long Island’s fifth-largest law enforcement agency. But confidential documents and taped interviews from the internal affairs investigation show that Kiernan quietly made an unauthorized personnel move — without creating any paper trail — that let Sickles continue police work while in the grip of a destructive addiction. Kiernan also failed to act decisively to ensure that Sickles was not a danger to himself and others, despite a direct plea from Sickles’ distressed wife that her husband needed help, the records and interviews show.

Lt. James Kiernan was questioned by internal affairs investigators in March 2012 on when he knew Police Officer Eric Sickles was abusing pills and what he did to address it.

It's all police corruption, local up to the FBI. It's all related to Gina Giberson murder. Why can't you see that?

All law enforcement and the judiciary are inherently corrupt by design from the start. They are not your friends. They are your enemy. Don't be confused. They want to arrest you and profit off you..or dead..not "protect and serve" you as your public servants and "friends". It's a lie. Don't be a fool. Protect yourself by KNOWING what is in front of your face Jesus tells us. Fear NO evil!

FTP! And all the members of that evil brotherhood.
FOP is a corrupt organization obviously.
We are hunting you down currently. Beware!

Obviously the Charleston Police Department and our Coles county public servants in the court system and the corruption will end soon. They didn't protect her as they easily could have. There is no excuse for a murder of this nature to be allowed to happen and not stoped by our LEO's. Will CPD or Larry Steeples settle (monetary judement) this quietly or demand a jury trial in a civil wrongful death lawsuit to aviod anymore bad publicity within our community? We should all pray public trust is restored soon in our public servants and government institutions and hopefully their will be political pressure on our NEW State Rep to help end this type of tragic murder from happening again in our community.

I don't even know why we need law enforcement in Coles County with Chris Gaines solving all our crimes - Giberson murder, taking down all the drug dealers and users - wow! what's left for for the police officers? Chris you are stupid if you think you are the whole reason for the success of the sheriff's dept, police dept, and DEA. You shouldn't be in small town Charleston you should be in Chicago, New York, LA, Florida, somewhere you can take care of these types of crimes where they are much more prevailant.
