To. Swain resident
"There are probably things that the locals know about your brother and his life that you didn't, and if you choose to read these forums you should be prepared for that"
Heaths family knew everything about his life. there is nothing the LOCALS could possibly know that his family didnt know.

Keleigh, many many people love your brother Heath. I have known Heath since he was 19. Heath touched the Hearts of everyone he met and he will always be in our hearts forever. I am proud of Heath for his devotion to his family and friends. After I heard about this Trajedy I called Heaths cell phone and asked him to call me to tell me it wasnt true, shortly after that you called and confirmed his passing; Keleigh I heard Heaths voice in yours and your mothers voice, he lives in our hearts and he will be loved always and forever.
He wanted to go home to VA Beach for quite a while and had been working on getting his Real Estate holdings in order for him to leave Bryson City.
Keliegh, Its time to take Heath home back to VA Beach. With much love and admiration for Heath and the Compton Family, Kelton
Kelton, I'm so sorry fr your loss. You were the first person I asked about when I heard thw sickening news. Much love to you, nicole

just to clear it up, I was with Heath when he traided his jet boat for his cute houseboat, he has been living on it (for the most part) remodeling and fixing it up ever since he purchased it in the summer of 07. If anyone has the opportunity to purchase the houseboat from his family may you have many many fun times on Heaths houseboat.
Amen Kelton! Fun times are the only thing that need to happen on that houseboat!!

If they were such good people then why were they mixed up with drugs. Good people don't do that! I'm sorry they ended up murdered, but there are consequences for our actions. Does anyone feel sorry for the families of the kids they were selling too? Does anyone feel sorry for the kids who "Overdose." It don't take a "Brain Surgeon" to see that this was a drug deal gone bad.

I would hope that shellrn is not in a healthcare position or an employment related management position. The employee assistance programs would cease to exist. The statement that good people do not get mixed up with drugs is quite wrong. My sister is a nurse who got mixed up with drugs and is suffering the consequences as she lost her nursing license and spent several months in prison. She is not a bad person. Murder should never be a consequence of falling off of the path. None of us are perfect and we should not be defined by small periods of time in our lives. I knew both of these men quite well and lived in the house with them for almost two years. They were good people who would have given the shirts off of their backs to help others. My thoughts go out the family and friends of the victims.

It's true I didn't know these men personally. But the "Law is the Law." There were obviously "Laws" broken which caused the whole incident. There's many rumors about what caused it. Who really knows, but when someone starts putting it all together it comes down to illegal activity. This is a public forum we all are entitled to our opinions.

You are correct. The "law is the law" and this is a public forum where we are entitled to our opinions. Murder is murder. Here is the law:
14‑17. Murder in the first and second degree defined; punishment.
A murder which shall be perpetrated by means of a nuclear, biological, or chemical weapon of mass destruction as defined in G.S. 14‑288.21, poison, lying in wait, imprisonment, starving, torture, or by any other kind of willful, deliberate, and premeditated killing, or which shall be committed in the perpetration or attempted perpetration of any arson, rape or a sex offense, robbery, kidnapping, burglary, or other felony committed or attempted with the use of a deadly weapon shall be deemed to be murder in the first degree, a Class A felony, and any person who commits such murder shall be punished with death or imprisonment in the State's prison for life without parole as the court shall determine pursuant to G.S. 15A‑2000, except that any such person who was under 18 years of age at the time of the murder shall be punished with imprisonment in the State's prison for life without parole.

To the family ,

Its been 25 years since I lived in Bryson City , But onething stands out about my hometown , When tragedy strikes we come together like a big family , I grieve for your lose !! I too used to own a houseboat on Fontana it was the 42' white one with the blue skirting that sat at the mouth of Greasy Branch Marina , It seems that Scotts sister enjoyed time with her bro on Fontana , remember those times always , They'll never fade !

Well it was two black men. I heard that 3 mexicans dropped them off to and after they did what they did the stole the guys trucks to get away. This is so sad, but I would really like to know why two black men from Atlanta would want to kill 3 people? Mexican Mafia involved??

Arrest In Double Murder

"Deputies arrest a suspect in a double murder in Swain County. 26-year-old Jason Johnson is behind bars charged with two counts of first degree murder.
Investigators are also looking for a second suspect, 25-year-old Jeffrey Miles. Johnson and Miles are charged with shooting and killing James Wiggins and Michael Compton last Friday at a home on John Henderson road".

By the way no one on any article has mentioned the fact that Heath and Scott had started a backhoe and truck hauling company several years ago.
also that Heath and Scott over the years have baught and sold boats, cars, ATV's,farm machinery, bikes, trailers etc Heath also made sales/purchases using ebay ( I have seem some of his beautifull furniture he has baught and sold. all the above buisiness conducted at the Wiggins house.
Make note that now they have arrested one of the killers the athorities will be able to use the Wiggens computer and cell phone to track interactions or not with these two killers and or the killers associates and anyone anywhere remotely conneted with the killers or victims and hopefully make other arrests with anyone associated with directly or indirectly with this horrible crime.
so be on notice Swain County residents and surrounding counties there will be alot of stones uncovered in connection with this, alot of questions will be asked, your loved ones could be invloved indirectly or directy with this crime or any transactions leading up to this crime.
Due to the remote location of the Wiggins house directions for the killers to get to the house had to of been discussed/obtained/or associated with other parties other than the killers. I pray everyone involved directly or indirectly in this crime will be braught to justice.
excuse my spelling Im pretty upset at this time

Most folks want to think that they were killed because of drugs. I think it could have been just robbery. Anytime you buy and sell items people think you have lots of cash around. Drugs may have played no part in their deaths. As our economy tanks more folks will come out of the cities to rob. Just a thought. And I'm sorry for your loss and all that knew Scott.

you ain't kidding. but the meth trade will not stop nor slow down one iota because local LE is on the take and always has been. So they find out where Scott was getting the meth and who he was selling it to, they will just bust some small timers and leave the big wigs in Swain and Graham and Franklin county out of it.
This has happened time and time again with the meth dealers bringing stuff up from Atlanta. How do you think these colored boys knew about Scott and heath? I don't know either but the Atlanta connection is very suspicious.
why have you quoted me? I have never mentioned drugs in any comment I have made in this forum. Hopefully the reason 2 men would drive up from the Atlanta area and murder will come out during the investigation and ALL parties associated with this in any way will pay and justice will be served.

Why don't you post the statute for "Meth" possession. Now that would be interesting, especially since your attacking others on the forum.

My comment was in response to shellrn. It was not an attack. I was explaining that murder should never be a consequence. Please learn to use proper grammar if you want to address me. "since your" should be "you are."
