Justice at last! All that matters right now is that that little girl gets justice. RIP baby girl!

It's very sad to read that people actually support this woman in killing her daughter.

There won't be any justice... the lady will get off because of "mental illness" and go to a hospital for a while and then get let out again. She needs to be fixed so she at least won't have more children...since she already has, what, three (or four) others that she's lost custody of?
People who are known to be unable to care for themselves should automatically be sterilized....Yes, i'm so heartless....
No, I agree. Not heartless. Realistic. My birth mom was forced to have her tubes tied after abusing 4 children.

It doesn't matter if she is crazy as all get out. It doesn't matter if voices told her to kill, or if she was trying to "save" her daughter from something. What matters is if she knows that killing is wrong. Leaving the girl in the motel room constitutes fleeing which points to knowing she did something wrong.
The fact that the stepfather did not keep the girl with him when the mom was having an episode, did not call 911 immediately when she left with the girl, nor did he transfer the girl into his own car when he found them the day before the killing, tells me that the little girl was never really safe. The mom got to have choices even when she was not thinking straight. A recipe for disaster.
Children get frightened when parents are angry and get out of control perhaps yelling and spanking and what have you, but parents usually regain control of themselves relatively quickly so the stress on the child is short lived. But a child who has to endure a parent who is hallucinating frightening things for a prolonged period of time would be terrified.
Where was the safety plan and why wasn't it followed? Doesn't CPS usually make a safety plans with family members for when mentally ill parents have episodes?

Oh well. I dotted my "I"s and crossed my "T"s on my report. Time to go home now and watch Dancing With The Stars.
