Conn. town residents urge stricter gun control

Feb 1, 2013 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: The Daily Record

One after another, Newtown residents stepped to the microphone and urged Connecticut lawmakers to stop another tragedy like the deadly shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School and take action, such as banning high-powered, military style rifles and high-capacity magazines.

I think they were bought off or conned really bad. Bought- literally so much "stuff" that they had to ask people to stop sending "stuff". Trips to football games on the field, broadway, superbowl, D.C. tour to push the anti-gun campaign, and a $40,000.00 check from just one of the many funds founded within hours of the shooting, and that's just what's published. Conned- your child is killed 11 days before Christmas by a very disturbed individual, nothing can fix that. So you are helpless with a great loss and the police are not giving you the motive. Innuendo, rumors and misinformation is a blizzard,( created by those in charge). You really want an answer and feel more helpless since not getting one from the official "investigation". You are greeted with the condolences of the state of CONnecticut, namely Blumenthal and company.( Remember when they kicked the Priest off the podium for their promo shot?) All the resources of the state are there for you to make a positive of this, to prevent this from happenning again, to vindicate your children so they will not have died in vain, to go after the "real culprit", the gun.(The gun that is inanimate until picked up by a human). So don't feel helpless, you can stop the guns. Blumenthal as our former, crooked Attorney General is a lawyer. He and bootlicker Murphy helped Feinstein create the anti-gun bill. What a coincidence. Blumenthal has done many "favors" for Newtown. Not a problem to get these crooked politicians and police on the "team". Blumenthals father-in-law is Malkin, owner of a lot of media and the Empire State Buiding. How conveinent. And the country gets the shock and awe anti-gun campaign complete with the most helpless victims. And you're wondering why we aren't getting the truth?

The war on gun rights may very well begin in New York. Here is a 4 minute video from New York where citizens came to debate with lawmakers. New York gun owners will not abide by the laws already being forced upon them. When lawmakers told the crowd that if they had any illegal guns or magazines that they needed to dispose of them, laughter broke out all across the room. Its simply not going to happen.

Lost in the argument is the fact that every recent mass shooter was a known mental patient being treated with drugs rather than being institutionalized. The failures were not because of a lack of gun laws but a failed mental health system and the reluctance of medical officials to send in data on their patients.

We need nut control and criminal control. The rest of us and our guns are quite well behaved.

You have a keen sense of the obvious.

However Libertards NEVER let a disaster go by without utilizing the event to further their agenda. This mentality has been published as said by rahm emanual or some other Obama Libertard.

In this case the agenda as everyone including you understand is gun control.

Schools should all be protected with armed guards just like Obama's kids school is.

Well Said! Have you noticed that Chicago had over 40 murders in January? If gun control laws worked Chicago would be a paradise of peace. However as we know all too well they don't work. I believe in civil confinemet for mental cases that refuse to take their meds and are a threat to society. That aint PC though so we have mass murders by the lack of proper treatment of the shooters.

THE policy that led to the release of most of the nation's mentally ill patients from the hospital to the community is now widely regarded as a major failure. Sweeping critiques of the policy, notably the recent report of the American Psychiatric Association, have spread the blame everywhere, faulting politicians, civil libertarian lawyers and psychiatrists.

http://www.nytimes.com/1984/10/30/science/how...

Where there were once many large complexes of state hospitals, there now sit empty buildings, vacant lots, or something completely new, maybe a Starbucks or shopping mall. You can't go from needing institutions for many thousands one day, closing them and pushing all those inmates out on the street the next, without a LOT of problems.

This is a tail wagging the dog situation: MONEY is the prime motivator despite what anybody says. The politicians want to cut spending so they hire social scientists to study (come up with rationalizations) why patients can be released. News reports are crafted to garner sympathy for mental patients locked up against their will. ACLU and their ilk push the agenda for releasing these poor people (with no regard to the consequences to the rest of us). And a ticking time bomb starts its clock.

Take guns out of the equation for a minute. Find ALL the police and social services cases where mentally ill people make serious trouble; you'll find many if you are objective. If so many of these folks are dangerous w/o guns, it is INEVITABLE some will get hold of one and create these tragedies. It's all a numbers game. Thousands of people who need supervision let-loose = some will kill.

You can NOT blame a tool for injuring someone or there would be no tools available. We limit risk by designing safer tools, educating users, and restricting them to adults. Every so often a kid will hurt himself with a tool, but we don't ban tools. Mentally ill people need to be treated like kids and not be permitted to handle dangerous implements.

Connecticut closed down the Fairfield Hills Mental hospital as a cost-saving measure and the politicians friends set up out-patient care companies that virtually doubled the cost. Fairfield Hills is across the street from Sandy Hook Grade School. The Town Hall is one of the buildings. The rest of the complex is a constant target for the local politicians, including the Town Lawyer, for development to fill their own pockets. Arguments with citizens commitees for years have prevented some of this. We voted against the new town hall, yet there it is. Just another example of how crooked the long-time town leaders are here.

Muscatatuck state hospital . After viewing the website I think I know where the fake muslim killer footage was actually made . More propaganda :( 3229
