Two dead, 2 hurt in shootings

Investigators are trying to determine today what led to the shooting deaths of two women during an apparent domestic dispute Wednesday evening at a home near Red Springs, according to Robeson County Sheriff Kenneth Sealey.

This tragedy is just another example of how the justice system has failed. Joseph matteson was pending assault charges against his wife kendra in hoke county. With a court date of Feb. 25. After Joseph repeatedly harassing kendra, she attempted to obtain a protective order from the hoke county magistrate's office, who denied her request. Even after seeing text messages where Joseph threatened to kill law enforcement officers and himself. If the protective order had been issued, under north Carolina general statue chapter 50b3.1 Joseph's firearms would of been seized by the sheriffs department. And as bad as this is, it could of been worse. Kendra is a school teacher, and Joseph had repeatedly harassed her at her place of work. It not that we need more gun control laws, we need law enforcement to enforce the laws that are already in place. Those two women were murdered because our local government failed them.

I know Kendra personally i was in the house when the shooting happened Kendra is the cause of the situation and needs to be prosecuted along with joseph! She caused the entire situation! She needs to get help as well as be prosecuted.

Exactly what would they prosecute her for?

It doesn't matter if her and if we're fighting or whatever. It dissent give someone the right to pull a gun on any one ! I know her personally too my cousin and I know better. Two wrongs do not make a right. And ur right we DON'T need more gun control laws the law should have done there job ESP. If she had prof of the harassment. This is sad. But kids were involved so u rather her get charged with nothing and have her taken from her child... because she wasn't the one who pulled the trigger and killed two innocent people including ur own mother.

Now that Joseph is alive and well,surfing the internet and able to question the "health of an unborn child" and "who has custody of his nine year old" and "where his cars are???" How is it that he is unguarded and going to be released from hospital and NOT CHARGED? And does anyone know where he left his guns?
