When did he say they caught the guys responsible at the scene of the crime or even in the area? Caught doesn't indicate where.

my nephew thomas essigg,23 was robbed an shot an killed dec2 ,2012 in blytheville,in front of a chruch. what really pisses me off is this young man had served our country, twice, made it back home, an these low life murders, take his life at home over 200 dollars. i thought the media would have something nice to say about him, hell the teen that go shot a week later is still in the paper,so it comes to this a soilder can risk his life in another country, comes home an dies but the newspapers cant say a damn thing about him, please, did he have to be into drugs or something for this damn paper to even care. he left behind a twin brother, mom, sister an his oldest brother, an grandma that loved him very much,i love thomas an his family ,but couldnt this paper for a man that served our country twice, this is just wrong
,there are good ppl out the an he was one.so to you blytheville newspaper you should check into things that are really important !!!!!!!!

This is the twin brother of the man killed in front of the church and I am finally going to speak my mind. It saddens me beyond grief that my brother was killed, but it saddens me even more that there is no media or anything of that nature about this unthinkable tragedy. A brother,a son, a grandson and so much more can serve his country faithfully with the highest honor without complaint, then a senseless act of violence takes his life. My question has to be where is the god dam media on this why aren't they talking about it? This has to stop! My family needs justice. More than anything we need peace. I know someone knows something. Someone knows what went on that night, but no one has the balls to speak up. Let me ask you this simple question. If it were your family member that this happened to, wouldn't you want justice, wouldn't you never give up until these men are caught and dealt with accordingly? He was a good man, did all the right things in his life, never a criminal record or so much as a speeding ticket. We was one of those people who could impact your life forever with just a sly canny smile. We need just, we need peace. We need the community of Blytheville to speak out about these senseless crimes that are taking place. None of this has to happen to anyone. I think it's time for the community to stand up and take action, because if you don't this will continue to happen as long as the town is there.

first of all let me say how sorry i am for your loss it is a shame we live in a country where you more likley to be killed by a low life in your own town than if you go off to war people have taken our freedom for granted way too long if these folks could live in some of these countries for just six months and see how shitty life is there they would have more respect for our veterans. we need to run these folks out of town and part of their sentence should be to never set foot in Blytheville again that is if they ever get out maybe then we could get rid of alot of these low lifes it has to stop

This was a mount man who was proud to serve our congruity twice an no one gives a whit about it.this country is so messed up I just don't get. So this is how we treat an honor our soilders when they go to war to keep us safe only to come home to be killed an this paper has never once said anything about Thomas being a soilder shame on you when the shooters get more resecpt them a soilder.it just shows you the media couldcare about the victim but lets hurry up an talk about these sumbags that are out there walking free.wtf

A man wanted in connection with the December murder of 23-year-old David Thomas Essig was taken into custody Sunday in St. Louis.

Blytheville Police have been searching for 17-year-old Rodney Willis, who is awaiting extradition back to Arkansas to face charges for the incident.

Essig was discovered on the morning of Dec. 1 lying on the ground in the yard of the True Gospel MB Church, located at 1604 W. Rose St. When officers arrived, he was dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

Evidence from the scene was collected and submitted to the State Crime Lab, but there were no immediate suspects.

Detectives interviewed a number of witnesses that provided detailed information regarding a physical altercation that identified 43-year-old Jimmy Northern as another alleged offender in the shooting. Northern was arrested in January and arraigned on charges of first-degree murder and possession of firearms by certain persons. Results from the crime lab also connected Northern to the death.
