The man accused of fatally shooting a teenage girl and the man who came to her defense at an Arcata home in May will not face the death penalty if convicted of their murders, Humboldt County District Attorney Paul Gallegos said Monday.

What a travesty of justice. I hope that the California state attorney general's office can take over this case and seek capital punishment. Bodhi Tree deserves no less. He will likely be released someday on parole again. Think about that one.
