My take on this was that Lawrence King was transgendered. Few people care to know the difference or even that there is a difference between Gay and Transgendered. Thus him being called Gay fairly often, he adopted a flamboyant persona. It was probably defensive as much as anything, the only thing he could do. For some people, shutting up and not drawing attention to yourself is just not possible.But whatever King did, he did not deserve to die for it.

I agree. I happened to hear of this incident on the radio, less than an hour after he was shot, and I followed the case closely.
