I find it interesting that the usual people on here commenting about how bad the police are seem to be missing. A grand jury has cleared the officer. Imagine that, I guess all the speculation about how bad the police are might just not be true.

I don't see anyone on here saying they were wrong about what they thought might have happened. Where are the statements about the "trigger happy police?"

Thanks for doing your job guys. Glad both officers got out of this without injury and are still alive to tell their story.

Actually we really don't have to comment about Cvilles Brownshirt cops being trigger happy, its in the news. Read it.

The attorney, Webb, is a civil attorney. So nobody is paying him yet, but in the end he will go for the cash. The guy will probably get a public defender for the criminal hearing. Maybe those who don't like the trigger happy cops can chip in for a higher paid defense, uh no they won't

Uhh, drunk, hit and RUN, and assault, and got himself shot.
I say stop wasting tax payers money, go ahead plead out for a lesser charge. Go do your time, and when you get out. Give up being a gangster.
Guys like this deserve what they get.

where are all those who were yelling foul and accusing the police of wrongdoing and calling the investigation a cover-up now?????

A jury of citizens, not cops, in the Peoples Republic of Charlottesville of all places, heard the evidence and found the officers acted accordingly and the suspect didn't. I get so sick and tired of the arm-chair attorneys on this site who are quick to accuse before they know the facts.

Shut up next time and wait until the facts are in!!!!!!!!!!

How is defending their own life trigger happy??? read the Grand Jury Verdict!!! Jeez, cut them some slack, they would put their life on the line for you, even if you don't appreciate it.

These days it sounds more like they'll drop the hammer to save themselves, not me. Sorry, cops are just too quick on the trigger these days, just read some national news instead of drawing conclusions based on what happens in this cow town. Cops are shooting innocent people all over this country, its no secret, just read. If you can.

you should try doing, most wont. make that split second decision that could cost you your life or someone else's. If you hesitate and die, your a hero for a day and then the public (those who care to begin with) forget soon after funeral and flags are raised. Defend yourself and survive, your trigger happy. Wow, what a choice. I read about the violence on police as well, officers are being killed 1,2,3, sometimes 4 at a time around the country, assaults on police are on the rise, but they are heavy handed. I am glad we pay them so much and support them so well. TIC
