No one joins a small town police force because they're trigger happy.

You are all Pathetic,Offcer Mumbauer is a dedicated officer and well respected by his coworkers and his community except for a few low lifes. the report shows the struggle they were in, and had the guy gotten officer Mumbauers weapon from him then this would have been a different story completly, and the guys family would still say it's the cops fault . please give me a break the guy was off his meds and out of control and other people in the area could have been injured or killed. It was a terrible thing to happen but it happened now get over it, The DA ruled it justifilable now get on with your lives..

Let's get real. Officer Mumbauer is a good cop.
Police are not issued guns just to look good.
If some mentally ill drug addict.was kicking the crap out of me or anyone reading this, citizen or police officer, has a right to defend himself.
I don't think anyone reading this would have not defend himself. But, because officer Mumbauer was wearing a badge, he's the bad guy.
Why is the law enforcement person blamed. I'm sure the guy he had to shoot made a lot of other bad choices.

Who kills a guy who's cuffed? Because Mumbauer was wearing a badge shows he wasn't trained well enough to deal with normal police work!
