Sounds like someone needs to think before they get on a computer! EVERYONE knows about the affair and Joni was not so wonderful... she was using Dale for all that she could get... Hello... she was only 29 and he was almost 50... He was the one with the successful business and all the money. He lavished her with all that she could ever want or need and she made him look like a fool.

IF ANY ONE OF YOU PEOPLE REALLY KNEW JONI YOU WOULD KNOW THAT SHE LOVED HIM VERY MUCH. dALE IS A COWARD AND I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND WHY HE MURDERED HIS WIFE AND MOTHER TO HIS CHILDREN. SHE WAS AN INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL PERSON ON THE INSIDE AND OUT, SHE DIDN'T NEED HIS MONEY TO BE HAPPY, SHE WAS A PROFESSOR. HER FAMILY IS CLOSER THAN ANY FAMILY I HAVE EVER MET. HER BOYS WERE THE MOST VALUABLE THING IN HER LIFE ALONG WITH FAMILY. SHE WAS A WONDERFUL MOM. TO CLEAR UP THE RUMORS, THERE WAS NO AFFAIR. PRAY FOR THOSE LITTLE BOYS AND FOR HER BROTHER AND PARENTS WHO ARE NOW RAISING THEM.
So sorry family member... but to clear the air... everyone knows who the football player is and no matter how much you try to cover up how Joni cheated (several times) and made a fool of her children and Dale, it isn't going to bring her back. You can't go on harboring these feelings of anger and hate... you can't change the past. It's gone and I for one can't believe what has happened... It is all just too sad and I feel for you.

Sane people can snap and obviously this man did. I don't know if he has gone to trial, but if I'm on the jury, you can bet I will vote to find him innocent due to temporaryr insanity.

Now I know you fools who have the time to spend on this thing ranting and raving about Joni and her death have better things to do. Being my first time in seeing this, I am ashamed and down-right saudy that people use someone else's aweful death to assert their own prejudices about women and blacks. Does the race of a person really matter in this story?? does that make it even more acceptable for someone to murder? Do all women seek money in relationships? If I recall correctly (which is an understatement)Joni was an accomplished prof. SO who are you all referring to? Ignorant... Aol...you obviously are a good friend or family memeber of Dale's and feel bitter both about his stupid demise and women in general. And the soldier boy quoting the bible verse about adultry and death...please...all of you, take you racist and mysogynistic personas to another forum for haters...haters...a perfect lable so weak minded insolence. y'all know what that means? Let me break it down in double-speak for ya...better yet, re-read when ya get the chance and see if you can guess where I am indexing from :)

I knew both Joni and Dale, and I can tell you that Joni never cheated on him. Dale is an increadible talker. He could make you believe anything. He also loved attention and making people feel sorry for him. I got to hear how horrible his first wife was, and how she cheated on him, but none of it was true. He used the kids to make himself look good, not because he loved them. He told me one day that, " I have started a new life, and I don't even want to know my other children anymore." Dale had no heart. I am just so thankful that he didn't hurt the kids as well. Do not be fooled by his character, because that is what his life was; just one big act!

Joni was a loving caring person as Dale was to. Joni was the third wife of Dales. Dale was Joni's first husband. Joni was intelligent and beautiful she was sucessful in life personnally and professionally, she never needed Dales money and if anyone really knew them when Joni and Dale first married they would know that the first two homes were purchased by Joni Arnett because Dale had no money nor any credit because his previous two wifes made him pay. If Joni were having an affair I would think one would be able to name someone by now, at this point and through police records there has never been an affair and that part of the case has been closed out months ago. Even if there was an affair what would give someone, anyone the right to take the life of another human being. I think Dales actions clearly state what type of a person he clearly was and where he now sits. Anyone that would murder his wife with two children 15 months and 6 years old in the house and keep the body there for several hours while the children roamed the house and then hours later take his own life and leave the six year old child to tend to his 15 month old sibling until his Mother arrived to find her son and her daughter law dead with two babies unattended to is quite sick wouldn't you say. People have to realize that rumors are rumors and that affairs, using someone for there fininacial gain was all hogwash. There was no money when Joni and Dale married only a large dept that took years to pay off. I am certain that one that assumes Joni having an affair with a college football player would be the farthest thing from a young mothers mind. Her children were always her number one priority and there was never anytime that she was not working that those beautiful boys weren't with her. Murder is something that God has no place for and forgiving one for murdering when you know what you are doing will be very hard to explain to God. We will all miss Joni's beautiful smile and her laughter that she brought to so many people. Her charity work will be greatly missed and the many peoples lives that she touched every day will be greatly missed as well. We have to remember that Dale's mother has been through the death of her son, and she has also had to face the fact that her son killed an innocent person and left two small children orphaned at very young ages, so my thoughts and prayers are with her to, don't judge until you know the facts.

Joni's family is all just in it for what they can get. No one deserves to be killed like that but I can't help but think her family encouraged her to use him for his money. Joni should of thought of her children as well.
Apparently you don't know the Arnett's very well they have had a successful business for many years and through there financial help Joni and Dale were able to purchase a new home when they were married because Dale was so down and out he was living in a rental home and had been since the second divorce. The Arnett's are loving and caring people and they will never get over the loss of there daughter, she was there vision and hope for the future if you know the Arnett's they doted on their children Joni and J.R. and they fought for two years against this marriage, in the end all they could do was to be supportive for Joni but anyone that knew them knew they never liked Dale it was clearly evident. And thank God that they are there for the boys because there has not been any family member from the Eastman side to step up to the plate it has taken its toll on the Arnett's and just recently Joni's Grandmother loss her battle to live she died from a broken heart so not only did Dale murder Joni but he also took the life of Joni's Grandmother that was such a very dear lady that devoted many hours with Joni and J.R. and all her Grandchildren. She suffered a major heartattack on the day she was notified of Joni's death and she never recovered so Dale can take the responsbility for two deaths.

I agree with the quote about adultery...I am sick of hearing how horrible Dale was...He was so fantastic to his employees and his patients. He was a customer of mine and he lavished this Joni girl with diamonds and gold and a new fabulous house and anything that she wanted and she paid him back by cheating on him behind his back and made him look like a fool.
Maybe you didn't know him like you thought you did.

To everyone that has hateful things to say about this family, remember that their are still those that care about these people in the world. Think before you write a meanless entry about someone you don't know. Dale was my father, Joni was my Step-Mom. If you have a problem with the Eastman family, talk to me. Don't waste your efforts on a blog online. Waco, you sicken me. Horse trainer, I would like to talk to you in private sometime.

All i know is I miss my friend more than anything. Dale is the one who had the gun. HE IS the coward here. And everyone knows it. It doesn't matter how "fantastic he was to his patients, etc." He was shit to his wife, and to leave his kids alone like that is even more cowardly.
Lots of marriages have their problems, but people dont just do that. I also married young, went to college, had kids. My husband and I fight, but we get through it. If Dale would have taken the time to listen to her feelings and talk it out, she might still be here today.

Joni was an old friend of mine I met in Albuquerque at Eldorado Highschool and it saddens me deeply to find out this horrific news just recently. My memories of her will never be forgotten. We celebrated our 10year highschool reunion lastnight and i was looking forward to her joining us, but unfortunately found out the news from other friends there. I extend my thoughts and prayers towards her family and two boys and just ask that people respect Joni because she really was a great person and for those who think they know the truth about the so called affair or money issues shut the FUCK UP and mind your own business.Rest in Peace JONI.I know you still with us in spirit. We LOVE U..

Maybe someone needs to take their own advice! Get your facts straight and think before YOU get on a computer. Joni was WONDERFUL. And she was not 29, she was 26. She had 2 degrees and a successful job, she didn't need the money! Oh and she didn't make him look like a fool, he made HIMSELF look like a fool.

I know that it has been several months since you have written with questions regarding Dr Dale and Joni Eastman but I am here to answer some of those questions for you. I knew both of them for quite some time and their relationship was far from the story book type. Joni was young and still not ready (in my opinion) ready for marriage or children. Dale was into his practice that was thriving. Just expanded his office which meant more work for him. However he always had time to take time out of his work schedule to take them to the park or downtown to a fair of some sort. There were times, many times that he would tell us that he was doing something with the boys but Joni was not around. No in regards to her family. They did not like Dale for personal reasons but not for reasons one my think but rather because of business dealings that her family and Dale had together. Again I have first hand knowledge. Now Joni's family was all to familiar with her lack of attention to her family that she had, meaning her husband and two boys. At one point Joni was caught cheating and her parents begged Dale to take her back. He did because he loved her so. He loved his entire family. Now before I go any further I must say that I am so angry at Dale for doing what he done and it hurts my heart to know that those boys will not know or understand what happened. I am a firm believer in divorce and the kids and the entire family would have been better for it. Now as it stands the kids are with Joni's Mom and Dad who I hope will one day be able to tell the boys that their Daddy loved them so very much. It is not for Joni's parents to judge nor is it fair to the boys for Joni's parents fill their heads with all the hatred that they feel for Dale even though it is justified. I hope this clear up your questions regarding this terrible tragedy.

I just wanted to say a prayer, not only for Joni and Her Family - But also Dale and his family. The truth is all people are sinners, and we should not judge just because they sin differently than we do. I grew up in El Paso I know the Arnetts, and I knew of Jonis passing. I hadn't ever had the heart to ask what happened or details, so tonight she crossed my mind so I googled hoping to find an obituary and instead I found this. I am so sad, and I want to pray for all of us. Each of us lost someone one way or another. Right or wrong, this situation hurts. All humans have good and bad in them, and I thankful our heavenly farther forgives all of us for our sins, and for attacking each other. Lord thank for our blessings, and for life. And please forgive these people for their hurtful words and please lord be with Both families and all of the children involved!
