"The July 16 arrest of Henry Louis Gates Jr. for disorderly conduct in his own home sparked a national debate over racial profiling and police conduct. The controversy intensified days later after Obama said police "acted stupidly" when they arrested Gates, who is a friend of his.

"The poll by the nonpartisan Pew Research Center found that 41 percent of respondents disapproved of Obama's handling of the Gates arrest, compared with 29 percent who approved. The poll also found the incident and Obama's reaction saturated the public consciousness. As many as 80 percent of Americans said they are now aware of Obama's comments on the matter.

"The president's approval ratings fell, especially among working-class whites, as the focus of the Gates story shifted from details about the incident to Obama's remarks, the poll said. Among whites in general, more disapprove than approve of his comments by a two-to-one margin."

Look like Hussein is out to alienate everyone. I love it when he sticks his foot directly into his mouth...or cuts his own throat. I wonder who he'll insult and alienate today?

In decent bars and homes the beers are not lined up like the bar is about to close or the drinkers are alcoholic. The White House would at least know that sign of etiquette. Perhaps you don't.

Come on, there is plenty to abitch and awitch about in our world but how the White House serves beer is pretty petty even in the wingnut category.

Taskmaster, dear friend, I hope you watched Crowley's press conference with the sound up. It seemed like he did not believe that the meeting "accomplished nothing". In fact he sounded positive that this could be moved forward in a respectful grown up manner.

It has to be tough, dontch betcha think, that instead of our President slinking off to a Texas bunker, he tried to smooth over a difficult situation.

If these two responsible adults came out with a better understanding of each other, it was worth the price of an unlined up bottle of beer or two.

If these two responsible adults came out with a decision to meet each other to see what can be done in the future, it was worth the price of an unlined up bottle of beer or two.

If these two responsible adults came out with a commitment to help make this a better world, it was worth the price of an unlined up bottle or two.

Don't know how much the beers cost in total (for you whiners about tax payer's money) but it sounds like the cost was worth it.

Now go back to your lined up six pack!

[QUOTE who="nmweathermanLook like Hussein is out to alienate everyone.[/QUOTE]

It is tough, isn't it, when our president tries to bring people together - rather than alienate them over a difficult situation.

Obama has tried to make lemonade out of lemons in this situation - but I appreciate the loser w(h)ine will continue to be drunk!

Move on to beer - or lemonade - it is better for the disposition!

I thought it was a nice gesture from the White House to host this meeting. It is nice to see professional men, act professional. We can all learn from their actions. This is the way grown men should settle their differences. Way to go!

Like your style friend,it appears your not a regular guy!..beer is not your thing I see,nor are the Bars, ballparks,Stadiums ,and tail gate parties. where real people congregate.

Your analogy to some gossipy cocktail party does not apply when some guys go for a beer.Hell there was no pool table,no body smoking, no broads with outstanding body language, no pop music, just a rehearsed, programed ,out of place , A Garden?plastic, insincere DC,propaganda event...of which real people see right thru...Where is the Hamburger joints He and Joe to be with the Folk during the campangine??..they know how to slum it!..are there no real Bars in DC???... give us a break!!

Its phony snobs like you, loony Harvard Arugla eating,,wine tasting liberal,Girly Boys, who are ruining the country...In often a HYPOCRITICAL "Love Ye One Another"fashion...so please spare us with your excuses in defending this Obama as not being Racist. After 20yrs of that steady diet of hate,,are you trying to tell us he is not???..hey! he started this, have you forgotton??..Cops are Stupid??..whats that??..Amnesia won' t help Obama now, this Shaka Zulu Emperor has no feathers on!! Nice try but unfortunately its Bull Shit!!,and so are you!!....my friend!!...Go get a six Pack,A pack of butts,A Horny girl, and be happy..if you can!!

You cannot rewind the nlock on unprofessionalism - all you can do is learn from it.

And hosting a "summit" to facilitate that seems helpful, grown up and responsible.

Some people just havent the ability to forgive, learn, and move on...

That's a trait God warned about in the bible...
He said if we havent in our hearts to forgive others...than that same measure will be used against us when we stand before him...

It takes Love to forgive...many people on here lack that...their instead driven by other inclinations that are not of God...how sad...

aw yes, my dear nutcase, when Obama made the statement "stupidly" and "racism" he was definitely trying his best to bring every one together. And that 45 minute photo-op is a joke. Mr. Gates appears on a commercial for PBS, I knew I had seen his face before, well that is no place for a man of his backround and teaching to be. I will not be giving my usual donation to PBS TV this year. If this is the kind of person they want, good for them.

Truthful statement! But, it happened, it is done, and a nice way to resolve it. Have you ever done something stupidly? I have, just once though!

Satan is refered to in the bible as the 'accuser of the bretheren'...
Satan condemns and fault finds...
The lord forgives, and redeems...

If your full of condemnation and fault finding...who is your master?

If your full of love and mercy towards others..than I would guess you lean more towards the Savoir...who came to redeam mankind...
Satan condemns and destroys

The Savior redeams and forgives...

Which one reflects more in you?

You are right, this was not a gossipy cocktail party - it was a meeting of four men having a beer and trying to be grownups over a difficult situation - where "business" was conducted which happened to be at the White House (not some slouchy bar!)

I also doubt that if peanuts were served they would have thrown their peanut shells on the floor!

Sounds from Mr. Crowley's press conference that he did not think the meeting was a joke.

In fact he sounded very serious about what can be achieved from this meeting.

I appreciate you wingbutts don't want to wrap this episode up in a shiny white box with a red ribbon on it and move forward with some semblance of hope and resolve.

But many of us do.

It was a joke. What did this prove? It proved that if your president has a friend who is black he is on his side regardless. How many people were actually profiled during this summit? or during the time Gates was acting "all the fool". Alot and everyone but Gates who wasn't profiled at all, is the one that got the "free" beer for his photo-op.

I think tea and crumpets could have been better.Probably in a more serous setting.Where the Pres. now tiring to be poor imitation as on of the "BOYS" did not have to be tolerated by us...in the White house protocol, and ceremony counts!..the only guy who looked presidential was the cop...he may have respected this symbol of The white house, the President,The Vice President, should be presented i n dignity...Not some tenement back yard lot setting!,....I guess we are trapped in nonsense. This clearly designed to mask the real issue..RACISUM in the Oval Office.

we cannot not dismiss the Presidents remark ,as a minor "MISTAKE".....this knee jerk response was something he is comfortable saying. No TelePrompTer to protect him here!..and why not???...You may also have self induced amnesia,Regarding Obama's 20yr affiliation with Hate mongering ,God Damming America ,friend, confidant, and pastor. Most non delusional Americans do not. This increasingly so.For his numbers are falling. This from a nation with the rap, that we are Racist ,electing a Black man to lead us! What does that tell you?....Again my Friend, really have a Beer..go to a bar..sit ,sip,listen!...You will be in touch with reality again.for in the finial analysis ,its the great American people that counts. You can be sure this left swinging pendulum will soon swing to the right...this is our treasure and freedom!..thank GOD!..nothing is written in stone, and nothing is forever!..EXCEPT ,of course Our Constitution.

Meanwhile,a Lot Of Beer Drinkers Have no jobs!!
ITS THE JOBS STUPID!!
