Why convert DVD to Xvid?

Xvid is a free, open source codec developed by the computer programmers from all over the world. It has excellent compression feature. For example, the general DVDís capacity is 5GB, but after encoded by Xvid the size will be only 650 MB, one-eight as large as the original size but the image quality is evenly match with the original. So many organization and individuals use it to make thousands of the newest DVDRips with high video quality and put them to the internet.
