Bell tolls for Art Bell's six-week journey at satellite radio
Some thought Art Bell was a loon sitting out in the middle of nowhere broadcasting from a double-wide trailer, with a huge antenna on his property, talking about UFOs, flying saucers, ghosts and the paranormal.

As a nocturnal person I am really bummed he got our hopes up and then ended it after six weeks. I was first introduced to Art Bell by my High School social studies teacher of all people. One day in class he mentioned something about WW2 and the Philadelphia experiment, and noted that his wife was a listener of Art Bell. It stuck in my mind. Less than a month later I found Coast 2 Coast on my local AM station KSCO. A couple year later I was a regular listener tuning in about 3 or 4 days a week. I would often listen to the beginning of Art's show parked in my Camaro in a restaurant parking lot while waiting for a friend to get off work about 11pm. Mr. Bell is just a magical voice. He could talk about anything and I would listen. I hope someday a movie is made about his life.

6 weeks is a long time for anyone to keep a job in Pahrump.
