The Namib Desert is dotted with thousands of mysterious "fairy circles," which are near-perfect circles of barren soil two to fifteen meters wide, rimmed by tall grass.

"Fairy circles" have occurred in Europe for centuries and centuries and occur there today. Also known as the fairy ring. Made from fairy fungus mycelium with mushrooms (and toadstolls). Also, made from the connetction of oval generts of mushrooms. No termites for the European fairy circles. European fairy rings can be over 33 feet in diameter. One source to read on the subject is
