Is Vladimir Putin Another Adolf Hitler?

There are 3313 comments on the Free Republic story from Apr 17, 2014, titled Is Vladimir Putin Another Adolf Hitler?. In it, Free Republic reports that:

As Mein Kampf makes clear, Hitler sought to unite all the people of German speech and culture into one state, or Reich, preferably by peaceful negotiation, otherwise by war and conquest... Today's drift toward war with Russia seems like a replay of the past.

So in your mind a good leader is one that continuously lies and misinforms its citizens, cheats them out of their money, prevents them from getting ahead, bribes them in order to stay in office and of course the best jail those that stand up for freedom and oppose the government, gee where have we seen this government style before
The hate of the West towards Putin is simple to understand.

Gorbachev and Jeltsin were so accommodating to the West that West thought that Russia was conquered, and belonged to them finally. Then Putin came and did not close the door to the Western appetites for Russian resources, but showed that Russia is still Russian. The West cannot accept that, and it unlashed all of this dirty propaganda, and even financed Putin's opposition in his last election, in order to take Putin down.

But the West is here miscalculating. At this point Putin is not alone any more in standing for Russia. There are many people of statue in Russia by now, who see through the Western attempts to undermine their country, and are standing on the same position as the Putin does: to strengthen Russia, and to keep it sovereign.

Putin is invading his Sudetenland because his empire (supposed because Russia is so in danger of diminishing population because of "homosexual propaganda") needs Lebensraum.

West prefers to forget that Ukrainians and Russians were living in the same state for over thousand years. Complicated things happen during such a long time. At the point of disintegration of USSR no full attention was given to such issues; particularly with respect to aspirations of the population, and whether internal borders should be set in stone when it comes to forming the independent states. So these issues keep lingering, and every time they occur, the West pushes their agenda over the will of respective people. In fact it is not Western business, but involves only the people, who lived in former USSR.

No, he is NOT!!!

Crimea was illegally given to Ukraine. Russia tolerated it until Ukraine was ready to give it to NATO. Then, Russia together with the local population, conducted the referendum. 60% of Russian population, and some other groups, voted to join Russia, and Russia then carried out the transfer of land back to Russia. No invasion here!!!

East Ukraine, after the bloody coup in Kiev, decided not to follow Kiev path any longer, and conducted the referendum in order to decide which path to follow. People decided for independence from Kiev. Instead of talking to these people, Kiev attacked them militarily, and the people are defending themselves. Whether Russia is helping or how much it is helping is not proven; but in any case Russia is not invading anyone.

The US went well out of its way to argue that Kosovo was a 'special case', based on hundreds of thousands of refugees and thousands of civilian deaths, which NATO quickly labeled as 'ethnic-cleansing" and therefore deserved independence.

Well, we have another 'special case', with hundreds of thousands of refugees and thousands of civilian deaths, that is indeed ethnic-cleansing and therefore independence has been declared -SO, SHUT YOUR HYPOCRITICAL, LYING MOUTH, NATO! YOUR DUPLICITY KNOWS NO BOUNDS!

Boy, that sure felt good after a morning cup of coffee. ;-)

Yes, the Western Allies would certainly have won WWII without the support of Stalin's genocidal Red fascist regime. Anyone who has ever heard of the Atomic bomb can see this clearly.

The reason Ukraine is a separate state is because it was the will of the Ukrainian people, Ukrainians were oppressed by Russians for centuries.

Yes he is. Ukraine wasn't going to give Crimea to NATO, that was Kremlin propaganda, NATO membership was never on the table, but Putin's latest actions may be driving Ukraine towards it.
Russian troops invaded Crimea, even Putin admitted it and the referendum there was a sham, as was the one organised by Russian mercenaries in Eastern Ukraine. Russians do not dictate to Ukrainians what they want and the majority of people in Eastern Ukraine want to remain part of Ukraine. Russian troops have been identified and captured in Ukraine, in what way is that not an invasion.

Ha Ha Ha. Tell that lie another thousand times and maybe some second grader in Omaha will believe it.

You're a joke.

1) cancel Russian language status

2) cancel Sevastopol lease.

Everybody knows that was the agenda. Putin just beat them to the punch.

and you seem to forget that Ukraine is a sovereign nation for the last 20 years, one that makes its own decisions and does not take orders from Russia. Russia is also a sovereign nation from the same conglomerate and should act accordingly.

The WEST pushes its agenda, now that's a joke, I suppose you think the WEST invaded Crimea and East Ukraine now, THAT is pushing an agenda moron.

So you think Chechnya, Georgia and Siberia should have been allowed to redraw the borders without any argument from Putin? Even when they fought for it the Chechnyans did not get it, so make up your mind, what you are really saying is Russia can do whatever it wants and the countries around Russia are supposed to bow to Putin, well that will not happen
