Interesting! This book goes into the Transexuality/Body dysmorphic syndrome debate. For those who don't understand, They are two different things. The only simalarities are the removal of body parts. In the case of Transexuality, it's to make the person as close to the opposite sex as science and medicine will take them. In the case of Body Dysmorhic syn., It's to make the person into ... what? an Amputee! What does that do for someone? There's a "Payoff" in it somewhere, but what? I'm a Transexual and I sort of understand Transexuaity, but I don't understand this. They are two totally different things.

Actually, no, they are not two "totally different things." They are almost identical, and have been around for a very long time. There are ancient methods of removing certain body parts that are almost as good as the modern ones, though much more painful. However the notion is simple, your mind is in disagreement with your body.
