Ahhh....so you admit you're a bigot?I've seen your type before your definition of a bigot basically is someone that disagrees with you. Well it works two ways you ignore the facts and continue to hold the same opinion.
Oh my goodness, this is rich! lol The old "I am rubber you are glue, what you say bounces off me and sticks to you" ploy!

When the other side of the discussion resorts to name calling and schoolyard tactics, on top of which when my rhetorical opponents begin putting words in my mouth and then conduct a personal attack based on this distortion, it proves to me that my point has been won. I'm sure someone will add to this thread just to have the last word and their attempt will be a waste of time because anything left in their arsenal will be intellectually bankrupt and ineffectual. Pretty much like all of their earlier arguments but, hey, for some the last word is all important. Having it makes them feel vindicated. I'll give them that, no problem.

I just hope that the more fair minded and compassionate people out there will read through this thread and begin to re-examine their own beliefs about transgendered people. There is lots of good information available on the internet about this condition, some of it is bad, most is good. I hope people will learn just a bit more and begin to change their outmoded way of thinking so that the next time a law or even a personal situation regarding a transgender person is encountered, they will approach the subject with more understanding.

Sorry to burst your bubble Ms. Capslocks. All my Bibles are intact and all have been well read cover to cover. Eunichs can be born as well as made by castration.

"Matthew 19:12 For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their motherís womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heavenís sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it."

I was born in between sexes but enough to be pronounced male. My unfunctioning Test** can't produce testosterone. My thryoid produces a little and that is converted to estrogen by my body.I have a female body except I have an outie! I am considered intersex and a male to female transsexual because I am fixing both medical problems.

I am also celebate, So I ask how this is some type of sexual deviant behaviour?

As one of the many transgender members of the community that have not started the process of jumping through the legal hoops yet thanks for writing this article. It is a little disheartening knowing that I have a bunch of hoops to jump through but knowing that there is a large trans community in the twin cities that have gone through this already helps. Also thanks to Cary, Erica, Kathleen, & Miranda for being out & open about themselves to be interviewed for this article.

Recent studies on Transsexualism:

http://www.cosmosmagazine.com/node/2275/full
"SYDNEY: The first genetic link to male-to-female transsexualism provides new evidence of its biological nature, say Australian researchers.

"There is a social stigma that transsexualism is simply a lifestyle choice, however our findings support a biological basis of how gender identity develops," said Vincent Harley a geneticist from Prince Henry's Institute in Melbourne and co-author of a new study detailing the find."

well thank you city woman for proving my argument and showing everyone here what a flaming hypocrite you are. What you just said is as long as people do what you consider proper, here regardless of what anyone else thinks should be allowable and acceptable to society. However if they do something you do not agree with as previously mentioned they should not enjoy the same rights.Gays, lesbians and trans people may have been around forever but so have pedophiles and other assorted paraphiliacs and the world hasn't come to an end either so why should they have the same rights as your chosen group? Are you maybe a Bigot?
The difference is the distinction between harm and offense.

That which causes harm ought to be avoided. So, paedophilia is not okay because it harms the child involved. Incest is not okay, because it causes harm to the offspring it may produce.

Homosexuals and transgender people do not, by virtue of being homosexual and transgender, cause anyone harm. You may find us offensive, but you have no right not to be offended. You do have a right not to be harmed.

So, that is the difference between the cases you cite and the people we are.

yeah, after my opperation i learned that i'd have to get a court order from a judge to change my birth certificate. and i believe i'd just need the notarized letter from my doctor/surgeon to change it on my drivers license...

i've yet to do either of those... also in my state you can get a form, by request only, that allows you to change the gender on your drivers license with recommendation of a psychologist.

also in the state i'm originally from i talked to a lawyer about changing my name, and was told that i'd be setting the precedent for the state. though in colorado there was a standard process for anybody who wanted to change their name,

I haven't even started looking into this mess -- getting a degree just comes first for me. But I doubt there's any way to get the BC changed, as I was born on a military base overseas. Somehow, I'm not confident that the DoD will have a procedure in place...

It depends on your state. It can be done in Oregon.

I understand keeping medical records private, but I would have an issue with someone having carnal relations with someone and them not knowing that I was transgendered before hand.

I have always been honest about who I was and I have chosen not to have one night stands, because it is not for me. To me it is unfair and dangerous not to tell someone that you are going to be intimate with even for a night with and not tell them prior to.

Everyone has to live their own life and decide what kind of risks they will make. For me a risk that I did not want to take.

I agree. And for an FtM, of course, it's pretty obvious.

But my objection is to this sense of entitlement to the information that the poster in question exhibited. Frankly, I think that if an MtF doesn't choose to share the information, there's any reason she should. Sex isn't the same thing as intimacy, after all, especially when it's a one-night stand.

I agree I also have an objection to entitlement to the information. It is between you and who you want to know and not anyone else.

I understand, your point of how some MTF's can completely pass, because their surgeries are better and many times even doctors can not even tell the difference after they fully transition, if they did not know about it prior to examination or treatment.

I still however, believe that you should share your history with your sexual partner. That is where I don't agree. I think that one night stands are a tricky situation for both participants and up to the individual. My question is why would you want to have sex with someone that would hate you or not engage in sex with you if they knew your history? Why not have sexual relations with someone who wants you as you are knowing your past history?

Times are slowly changing and cysgender individuals are recognizing transgenders/transsexuals as being who they are, not who they were born and loving them for being who they are. So, are lesbian and gay individuals, because in the past we have even been shunned or discriminated against by some within the gay community, because of a lack of understanding.

I totally agree with you on this. My point was whether some having a one nightstand had a "right" to this information. I believe that they do not.My choice also would be to be open but I also do not have one night stands.

No, the one that has Matthew 19:12 in it.
"Eunuchs born of their mothers womb".

Using modern and more restrictive definitions of the word shows some unfamiliarity with the Good Book.
