New Bible Evidence Says Ok To Be Gay

By Dr. Ann Nyland

The New Testament in the original Greek does not speak against Gay, Lesbian, Bi or Transgender people. Yes, many Christians believe it does, but then again many people believe there were three wise men who visited Jesus as a baby and gave him three gifts. Just look at all the nativity scenes! Yet no Bible version states there were 3 wise men, or that they visited Jesus as baby, or that there were 3 gifts. Rather, all Bible versions state there were three types of gifts, and do not mention the number of “wise men” who did in fact travel in large groups with cavalry for protection. All Bible versions state that they visited Jesus in a house, and history tells us that Jesus was just under two years old at the time....

I wonder how long it will take for these corrected translations to get into all bibles in the world what with all those who use the old translations against homosexuals fighting to keep them out.

I can't wait till their in.

The majority of Bibles in the world are translated into English. How many pastors or church goers actually do a word study themselves in the original language and take into account the historical and archeological content of the times? Language changes meaning over time, just as cultures change. For instance the word gay used to mean happy. Then, it was being used in the past as a derogatory remark against homosexuals. Now it is used to identify pridefully homosexual individual's most often men, but can be a blanket term for all homosexual individuals in general.

Language changes meaning. What did the original translation in the original language say and what did these words mean in the context of the time period that it was written or writing about?

How many other words have changed meaning just in the past 100 years alone? Words also can have different meanings depending on what country of origin they are. For instance, in the U.S. when a person say I would like a biscuit that means a biscuit usually eaten at breakfast time and they put a condiment of their choice or meat on it. But, that same word in England means a cookie which is a type of sweet for a snack. This is the same word used to describe two completely things.

Actually, back in early 2004, The Anglican Church decided to change their bibles. They say that the term "Magi" was a transliteration of the name used by officials at the Persian court, and
that they could well have been women.

"Magi is a word which discloses nothing about numbers, wisdom or gender embodied in the term," The Anglican Church said.

Nobody really knows what the term "Magi" means.

"The Three Wise Men" was just a Christian tradition, not found in the bible and there are plenty of traditions like that, such as the Roman Catholic Church's doctrines of the Immaculate Conception and the Assumption. The RCC maintains these doctrines as articles of faith, but they are not found in the bible anywhere

(The RCC has a long tradition of just making things up out of thin air, and not using the bible for guidance.)

Well, Miss Wil, you can rest easy now. For only $21.68 you can download a correctly translated Bible of your very own (unless you are in jail and don't have a credit card)

Since the US is a secular society it doesn't matter with respect to equal rights what the Buy-bull says, or what some crank, conman, fundierai$ing preacher says it says.

Or it shouldn't matter. We should make talibangelicals of all faiths move to Iran, or some other appropriately theocratic state.

I wonder how many anti-gay people, Christian or not, have ever encountered a situation where a loved one has come forward and said they were gay? And then I wonder how you reacted? Did you disown your loved one, be they a child, a sibling, a brother, a sister, a friend, etc...

I agree with Lillith...'bible thumpers have been revising the bible for their own beliefs for decades' and have been doing so for ages. They even do it against each other. Most faiths believes that theres' is the right one and the others are going to hell anyway. lol

I have met so many Christian hypocrites. How many of you go to church on Sunday and then meet up with you mistress or boytoy on Monday. Adultery? I do believe that is mentioned in the book. Yes, I said book... nothing magical to it. So I guess you are safe from being punished for adultery.

No... I am not gay.. my son is, and I am very proud of him. He is a wonderful young man who has graduated from college and beginning his life...

No... I do not commit adultery.. I am divorced, and alot of you would also believe that is wrong. Should I have kept my children in a violent situation to avoid divorce because you believe it is wrong? Hell, no!

And.. No, I will not be a hater of people because of their race, orientation or even of those of you who are bible thumpers. They way I see it.. that puts me and those that feel the same as me a few steps ahead of the ones that are haters.

I suggest if you can't walk in someone elses' shoes and be more open that you try harder to do so before spouting off with the mouth.

No, I don't believe in god, but, if I am wrong and you are right... then according to what I do know.. once you meet him in the place you believe you will go.. he may not be so happy with you for your hate, instead of understanding, of others.

Sure, let the fundie kooks rise aloft into the sky as soon as possible, by hot air balloon based on their fundierai$ing TV conmen/preachers' hot air emanations.

(The only literal rapture these "faith biased" morons will experience is when they're hooked on meth and patronizing a hooker or a hustler for an evening of sex that makes them feel guilty. At least the happy ending to the massage will be a momentary "place of peace.")

Nice to meet you 'dances'. My grandmother also grew up in a mining camp in Logan. She has passed now but I used to love hearing her tell stories of her childhood. Again, this has not much to do with the topic, but it does a little. Even though she grew up in a much earlier generation she would have been proud of my son, her grandson the same as I am. He also teaches now at the University where he graduated, this past summer. Temporary until he moves on to his original career goals.

What I don't understand is that the same people who have so much hate for ones as my son and your daughter, abhor the way others have been treated for whatever reason.. race, etc... but yet they slam these wonderful people with bigotry, when in fact it effects most of them very little.

Our children, and those like them, deserve and have earned the same rights of every other person. I have seen so many destroyed because of the closed mindness of the ones who should support those they love. Unconditional love means just that.. unconditional. To love no matter what.

Best wishes to you and to your daughter who has a mother who understands.:)
