Would you care to share with us your insights into how much Connecticut insurers will now be spending on sex reassignment treatments and how much that raises premiums across the state? Do you think it's more than the birth and care of two or three children?

Health care insurance doesn't cover child care, where did you get that from?
Tell you what though, that child will become an adult that will contribute to the system.
That guy or girl that wants to be the opposite has no physical health care problem.
Why shouldn't that be covered under the mental health portion of the plan?

As to the cost of this additional coverage, that would depend on how many of them think they aren't what they are. It could get pricey:

The insurance companies. Although it depends upon what you mean by "child care", but in this context it's obviously healthcare for children.

You neglect the costs of having untreated sexual identity disorder on individuals and society. Treated, many transsexuals become quite productive members of society.

Tell me: if you could spend $100,000 and turn a Downs Syndrome baby into a productive member so society, would you not want society to spend the money?
